You don't need to drive or taxi much on the weekend, as the convention is from Friday morning till Sunday 5-ish.

Since the ideal flights would arrive Thursday night, return Sunday night, let's use these hours.
Google maps shows little traffic from LAX to Burbank, Thursday night @ 9 pm. Same for return Sunday @ 6pm

Quite do-able. Now just need to make the time off! :)

I'm sure the changing of the dates was mostly, if not entirely, due to costs and availability of the conference center in LA.

Most likely. July in Los Angeles is Anime Expo, the largest anime con in North America. Then SDCC down in San Diego. Would be very difficult fighting for space/attendees with these two.

I'll admit that a mere month after Gallifrey One (which I'd already committed to attending since April) is a bit sooner than I'd choose, were everything up to me, but I'm not about to complain about finally getting a non-BotCon Transformers convention in the area. (Nothing against BotCon, but I've been told so many times how being unofficial gave other conventions certain advantages, I'd like to actually experience that for myself!)

It’ll be cool to go but It’s to far and costs a lot of money for a flight

I'm only missing Dan Gilvezan and Paul Eiding on my DVD box. Hopefully they can both make it.

The mortality of the voices actors has been on my mind too. It seems off that I wounder what would happen if Peter Cullen died, but I not think what I'll do when my father dies.

Um I live south of LA, past the LAX airport. It would be kind of wasteful to spend money on a hotel when I live only an hour or two away. I do appreciate the advice but it doesn't apply to me.

The problem is that when I would go, the roads would be crowded and filled with people who are in a dangerous hurry to get nowhere.

I'm in Oceanside and I'm taking a hotel so I can hang out at night and not worry about getting home. Will take the train into Union and then Uber or Lyft to the hotel.

I do NOT drive in LA!

It's not everyone who's still around, but it's most of the majors. Gilvezan and Eiding would be the last two to make it "complete" to me.

Left side: Peter Cullen, Jack Angel, Gregg Berger
    Center: Susan Blu, Neil Ross
Right side: Frank Welker, Alan Oppenheimer, Michael Bell

Coming from Oceanside, I shouldn't think you'd have to. You can circumvent it pretty easily if you really don't want to be in LA proper. (I'm thinking 15 to 210 to 134 to 5. You've missed nearly all of LA)

I live in South Pasadena, myself. Will probably do a daily commute to this, as well as for Gallifrey One, but I was seriously considering getting a hotel for Gallifrey One this next year after my experience this past year. I'm pretty tired by the end of the day, and would be able to stay at the convention longer if I knew I could just go upstairs to a room instead of driving.

But the costs of a room were simply too high. Maybe TFCon hotel prices aren't so bad? Haven't had a chance to look yet.

    Thanks for sharing!!
You have to at least add Michael McConnohie, John Moschitta Jr., Hal Rayle, and Corey Burton to it.

Other piece of info that you have 0% chance of knowing, lol, is that also we have only one car so it would mean my wife would be unable to go to work. Also, means I can relax and have a drink. I was ready to pay airfare+ hotel for Chicago so barring insane prices, I think I'll be good. Wouldn't do it for SDCC though, lol!

Totally understand why you'd do the commute though and if I were a better man, I'd do the same but I am weak, I need my rest!
