You can’t tell that guy anything.
Oh don’t worry, he already killed all hope of GI-joe coming back into the light with the recent movie.
As if I needed another reason to dislike this assclown.
I like the movies, while some are better than others and all of them could be better for sure. But either way this guy has no business being involved with them. What a hack.
Anyway Lorenzo, that's a no from me dawg
Why not? I'm pretty sure even those that work with him do the same.
That'd be Bay who rightfully gets that title. Zo's just an idiot that pisses off anyone with a shred of intelligence.
He wants all the glory instead of just shutting the entire hell up and be the producer behind the scenes. Like, Jerry Bruckheimer and Don Simpson are the abberation due to the type of movies they produced not the norm. Most of the time you don't know who the producers are on these movies but Zo's hellbent on proving he's a big shot as well as the smartest guy in the room.
Which is never true...even if the room is empty.
I hate this guy.
Yesh, only 17 mil back on an 88 mil budget.
Trying to release the next Transformers movie closer to after all of this is over is probably the smarter idea (and hopefully it's good, since that was a reported reason for the failure since general audiences are being selective on what movies to go see.).
As much it is fun to criticize Lorenzo for the quality of the films. The guy alone won’t determine the quality of ROTB. He’s but one piece of an entire engine that keeps this whole thing going. The guy was still apart of Bumblebee and it turned out to be decent. it will also be the director, writers, the actual crew making ROTB who will determine its quality. Not just Lorenzo.
Snake Eyes was doomed, even if it was Fantastic, covid destroyed some great movie franchises. I'd like to add Onward to that list as well.
But Hasbro STILL has the wrong people in charge. Snake Eyes existing origin story is compelling.
Here's the way I would have done it.
Young Snake Eyes on a black ops mission in a remote mountain area, goes horribly wrong (Cobra). Helicopter crashes. Disfigured Snake Eyes wakes up in remote monastary / kungfu camp with his head already in bandages, unable to talk and hearing foreign languages. GO
Instead of the next redundant animated reboot with distorted G1 characters or yet another live-action movie based on ugly Bayformers aesthetics and a ******ed plot, I'd finally like to see a true and more adult continuation of G1 (where they left in 1987).
At least Lorenzo admitted they fucked up with the Bumblebee marketing.
Wasn't that the whole point of the ReGeneration One comics?
Oh boy half the fandom is already getting sick of the franchise just being G1.
A literal continuation of Sunbow G1 would probably make it explode.
That was a continuation of Marvel G1.
I've never been interested in TF comics, I've always been a toon guy.
Half of the fandom? Really? Are there any statistics about that? - From what I've observed over the past decades, G1 has been the inspiration for everything that has been produced in the past 30 years. Recycled, I should say. G1 is the only line that will stand the test of time.
Yeah G1 is pretty much the foundation this franchise is based upon. Everything is based or inspired by G1 in some form. Whether it be character designs, names or plot lines.
Yeah, stuff being inspired and based on it is great, you get great designs and stories from it like UT, Animated, Prime etc.
Doing it again and again with little variation is where people are getting frustrated, regardless of the quality of the outcomes (Which I've called the Energon effect. Great toys, shit shows. Only unlike Energon it's been going on for 5+ years by the same team).
Get over yourself. The ‘realistic’ aesthetic is here to stay.
