Exactly don’t trust either side at this point, a lot is going to change from pre production to when a director signs on and adds his own vision to things. I think a video explaining things would be good once a director is onboard.

That's a really good point. From what I understand, both Travis and Bay got a lot of leeway in their creative approaches, to the point that Travis was apparently allowed to contradict Bay's canon, and Bay was even allowed to contradict himself. It's likely that the next director will be given the same creative freedom.

    I think this might be misinterpreted? I read it like;

In other words, a direct sequel to Bumblebee and then a "big team movie" following on that. At least, I hope that's what it means.

What if we reboot Bumblebee's sequel into a prequel to TLK's sequel?

Can't we hope for a TLK sequel that's handled like BB was? That too much to ask?

Don't compare school cafeteria food to Bayverse. Bayverse steaks are on par with MRE's, lol.

In my opinion, the ideal Transformers movie would be something smack in between the two. Something more focused than TLK, like Bumblebee, but something that also embraces more of the pleasant weirdness of the brand than Bumblebee did, like The Last Knight. Cast sizes and scales in between the two films. I want the edge of insanity, not full blown insanity, nor a nostalgic safe space.

Remember when studios would let behind the scenes stuff on the set, cast photos, trailers & posters build hype for their movie?? Lorenzo feels like that guy that’s sad that he’ll never be a star in front of the camera, but is using his position as producer to try and thrust himself In the limelight anyway. Like the producer of Finding Bigfoot that constantly wants in on the show & finds ways to insert himself.

That’s who Lorenzo is. He’s the Finding Bigfoot guy.

If they do this, it will finish off the franchise and poison the well for good. I had trouble getting friends to see Bumblebee, even after I told them it wasn't the usual gutter trash. They can keep their tickets.

I’m gonna have to call bullshit. I love the bayverse movies but there’s no way they sink the type of money necessary into a sequel after TLK bombed.

TLK was in 2017, a potential sequel will be no sooner than 2021. That's a 4 year break, a casual moviegoer won't remember the movie, by that point in time. It's a similar situation to AOE and TLK which had (unnecessary) 3 year breaks between the movies. The lack of planning and the uneven distribution hurt movies.

Bumblebee will be in the same situation. Instead of building up on the momentum of the movie they are stalling. There's no info on the director, on the next lead, the movie itself ended without any promise of a sequel. We don't even know when we can expect the sequel. Usually, there is a 2 year break between movies, but it doesn't look to be the case in this one.

Normally I'd agree, but this article seems to specifically indicate a TLK sequel. (Unless it means another big movie like TLK, and that got lost in translation).

I would love that. Carry over some of the plot details and characters from TLK (like Unicron, Quintessa, maybe the Autobot cast), but keep the aesthetic and whatnot more in-line with Bumblebee.

They could even say it's a parallel universe that shares a lot in common with the Bayverse. They could even use it as an excuse to include classic characters like Ironhide and Ratchet.

Honestly with Lorenzo still running around, I'll never be excited for the movies.

Why? Why try to revive something that is now part of the past. It's like trying to see if a Automobile that has been sitting in a barn for 30 years will start just fine.

As long they keep the premise and the cast I'd be happy.

The Bayverse has no continuity, of course they'll swap all the characters except Prime and Bumblebee and then time skip, no explanation. But that's what you like I guess.

For the last two movies the cast stayed the same though.
And I'm assuming in a Bee-movie styled production they would adhere to continuity. But, yeah. I don't really mind if there are a few things that don't fit continuity wise. As long as the story is entertaining to me.
