I hear this a lot in reviewers: "This is a test shot, and there are lots of loose parts here and there..." Then ---> "This is now the final version, and everything is tightened up nicely, etc, etc." Sooooo, what exactly happens in the factories during this in between time? ....a whole bunch of clear polish? lol
What SHOULD happen (and does not always with 3P) is that tolerances are improved, more optimal plastic is used to run off production parts, corrections and improvements are made to measurements or whatever is highlighted in test shot or prototype phase, paint layers may be added...that kind of thing. Test shots used to be run off with whatever plastic was at hand or in the mould, not the final option. That is my understanding, anyway. All the best Maz
Basically, this is one of the things the test shot stage exists for. If the test shot is loose and the final version is tightened, Hasbro did everything right.
No, I meant like....what EXACTLY happens? What type of tweaks occur that allow these things to tighten up? I REALLY, REALLY wish some company would put out a "from concept to completion" video. I'm so curious how this process works.
Ah I didn't see your reply at first Maz. Yeah, that's the kind of thing I was wondering about....the actual steps involved.
