Just read RID #32 and here is Prowl's alt mode. Looks like Off-road from the Menasor combiner limb.

 

I like the robot mode. Not so much the vehicle.. Those front windows dont work with the whole jeep look. Unfortunately if we get a figure of this, his vehicle mode will most likely be accurate, with a skimpy, botched bot mode.

They'd need to retool it to where the hood becomes Prowls chest

Off-road' transformation is completely different. His hood ends up on his back, not his chest.

With this transformation, I'd say he actually looks more like Skids.

They could always cheat and modify the chest.

 

It seems like IDW usually sticks close to G1-esque designs unless there's a new toy coming up. I don't see them changing Prowl from car to SUV unless he's getting some sort of new toy.

To me, this seems more like a potential Swindle retool than an Offroad/Wildrider. Offroad looks decidedly more pickup truck than this to me. Granted, we have no indications that another Bruticus is coming, but...

 

I hope not. They'd have to do quite a bit of retooling to make it work, and I'm scared Hasbro won't bother.

I'd be incredibly surprised if that's a toy design. Devastator is very unlikely for Generations 2015, as he'd need loads of new construction vehicle moulds, which isn't happening when we've already seen eight new Deluxe moulds for 2015.

Chances are, the SUV mode was so Prowl could keep a similar robot-mode aesthetic to his recent chunky Cybertronian design:

 

Or it could be as simple as he's a limb for the Optimus combiner.

Which he was change to that design BECAUSE of plans for combiner wars. Wild huh? 

 

I agree that it's unlikely we get three new deluxe construction models that can't be retooled into anything else.

But I also think there's a good chance that at least some of the deluxes won't belong to a specific "team"

 

Perhaps Skids' flip-out shoulder cannons could be retooled to function as a combiner port.

Well, it's not that far-fetched, considering Air Raid, Skydive, and Firefly are all the same mold retooled.

 

I think they have a shot. Just on the premise of Hasbro's ability to re shell/retool lately (Motormaster, Chromia, and jhaxius). I mean constructicons are like Aerialbots; robots with construction vehicles on their back (Mixmaster, Hook, Scavenger, and Bonecrusher).

 

Whatever it is, we NEED a new Prowl for the Generations shelf. Badly.

 

That's the first I've heard about this. Is this confirmed somewhere? That's some significant retooling if true.
