Looks like the annoying international redirect on Hasbro's TF website has been fixed

At least for the time being.

Transformers Movie Toys and Action Figures. Choose Your Side!

There's still a redirect, but it's less persistent. Closing the window (or tab) and then clicking the link again leads you to straight to the US site (or a sub-page, depending on which link you clicked).

This has been the standard at least twice before, but both times someone apparently decided that a more aggressive redirect to the domestic versions of the site were necessary for international visitors.

So enjoy it while it lasts!

Ergh. Just noticed that the annoying redirect STILL exists on the main page, but apparently it's more tolerant with deep links to sub-pages.

Well, at least I can get into the US page now.

Now, where's the instruction manuals at on that page?

Thanks for pointing that out Nevermore.

I don't know how many times I've cursed at my screen when I get redirected back to the UK site.

    EDIT

I actuially spoke too soon. I still can't get to the USA site.

Yeah, it's not cut-and-dry, but at least as of yesterday, it was easier to get to the US site. Try a few times.

Anyone else want to mail them? Make sure to specifically point out how the annoying redirect is directly affecting your interest in purchasing toys.

Actually, I was considering doing this very lad. I may well have to take myself up on it.

    Good letter there, Nev. :thumb

Of course, knowing Hasbro, my inquiry will probably get redirected to Hasbro Germany ("look, someone from Germany is writing us, let's forward his inquiry to Hasbro Germany"), which will then result in the status quo remaining the same.
