Nothing surprises me about hollywood anymore. If they are talking about the movie "Rabbit Hole" with Aaron Eckhart and Nicole Kidman, that movie was depressing.
I think that point for me was when they had the balls to remake Hitchcock's Psycho. Once they did that, all bets were off. Clearly, there is no depth they won't sink to.
Normally, I'd be saying no a thousand times to this. However, Sam Raimi's involvement gives me hope that this will be pretty good.
As near and dear to my heart as Poltergeist is to me, I'm willing to give a remake a try- especially if they ditch some of the fantastic elements and heavily play up that paranormal and horror side of it.
You wanna know what the sad thing is? Hollywood's been doing remakes since movies were invented. Don't believe me? Check out this list (and yes, I know it's from Wikipedia, it's the only one I could find that's about complete). List of film remakes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I agree with this 100%. There are just some movies that should not be remade. I have to say that I have absolutely no interest in a Poltergeist remake.
Poltergeist is one of those perfect horror movies that should never be remade. Filmmakers should follow this top ten essential rules to making a good horror movie remake which i found on moviefone: http://blog.moviefone.com/2011/08/18/the-10-essential-rules-to-making-a-good-horror-remake/ Who agrees with these rules, worst culprits and best examples?
hollywood just needs to quit. quit everything. they're clearly out of ideas. it's time to grab your hats and coats, and get out of here. leave the movie making to places that still have ideas. okay hollywood?
Hmmmm... this could be a good thing if they cast Pauly Shore, any of the Baldwins, Lindsay Lohan, ect...
