Time to shut off expectations. I enjoy these movies, but I've come to accept that I do need to dimmer my hopes. It is what it is, at least we're getting media.

Whoever hates the movies needs to rewatch the toon. That shit was stupid as fuck and nothing ever made sense. This shit aint citizen kane. They're movies based off a toy Comercial. Michael Bay must be like "it's come down to this" live action toons. Awesome

That's not really the same since firstly he the films were all shot as one then split into 3 films, not to mention Jackson went to the studio with the pitch to make a LOTR film from my understanding. This is different than a studio wanting to make a film then having to find a director.

Probably the first TF movie i won't see in the theater.

Unless it gets at least 60% on RT. Maybe then.

I don't hate Bayformers, i enjoyed the first 3 immensely. But 4 really felt like Bay and co. stopped giving f...ks anymore and still took my money anyway.

I won't be giving Mediocrity a pass this time around.

Well..since we are getting a new writer for the next set of TF films, it begs the question: Why all the Bay-haters out there if it was the writers who were at fault?

Not so much as the gnashing of teeth that will follow. It´s like a film within the film.

Agreed. fans may not like what he does, but any of you who dont the bayformers movie, put yourself in a cooporate possition, if you saw the bucket of money the Transformers movies make to the studio with Bay on helm, i am sure you would want him to stick around.

Honestly, if Kruger doesn't come back, maybe I'll feel better about this. I liked that the first movie wasn't a cinema masterpiece, but it was, above all, FUN. Even RotF (which has started to look better by comparison to AoE) was at least fun in parts, although the writers' strike certainly took its toll on that one. But DotM and AoE have been mostly...depressing to watch on the whole. I don't like this "everything has to be gritty and dark as fuck" mentality the movies have taken on.

    I like the TF films.
    I like Bay.
    Normally I like Bay's work.

I thought Pain and Gain suffered from being rushed, and had an "abridged filmmaking" feel to it- particularly in the editing.

I thought AoE suffered the same effects, but even more so. The long running time due to 2 movies being made into 1 film.

I fear that T5 will suffer just as much, despite not seeing 13 hours.

    Truth.
I've been missing the cries of racismsexismhomophobiabombasticpatriotism ad nauseum and all the rest of the anger and intolerance that comes from people of an ideological background that considers tolerance, diversity, peace, and inclusion to be virtues.

    I disagree.
IMO Krueger wrote the best of the films- DotM.
AoE wasn't as good, but that's what happens when the Director tells the writer to go easy on story and just write action and explosions.
It seems they shot a sh*t-ton of footage and put together a story in the editing room.
RotF was a fun watch, but it wasn't the Writer's Strike that hurt it as much as it was the Writers themselves. I didn't see anything in that film that was below par of their other works.

I am actually looking forward to the next Trek due to their absence.

Oh god....if it's as bad as the last movie, I will SKIP this one. Transformium, non-transforming Decepticons, no budget left for on-screen transformations, gun faces!!!! No thanks, Mr. Greedy Bay needs to move on. Like he's said the last 3 times. His other movies must not be raking in the dough.
