Okay, so I’m developing my own TF continuity (inspired by that TF fan-continuity thread), and I would like to give Wheeljack a super-ability like the comic book superhero-scientists (sort of a way to make him more prominent as a great scientific mind amongst Autobots and Cybertronians), but I’m not sure which ability to give him.

I exclude any tech-based ability (an army of drones, tools, etc), because obviously the Transformers with their superior tech are more than capable of matching whatever gadget any super-scientist of Earth could come up with. I am referring to a mutated, inherent/developed ability.

Here is a shortlist of the best (in my opinion) powers to grant him. These are probably the only ones that would truly work well and appropriately for him. I looked for something distinct and different from any other ability commonly seen within heroes/mutants.

    BESTIALITY
    SEEN BY – Bruce Banner/Hulk, Curt Connors/Lizard, Hank McCoy/Beast, Walter Langowski/Sasquatch
The concept of turning into a giant feral monster sounds rather appropriate for someone who brought a bunch of robotic beasts to life. Also it’d be interesting to see a scientist/robot get taken over by their irrational, “lifeform fighting to survive” side (something that was seen briefly in a BW episode).
I’d see Jacky go all reptilian (Connors), all mean and muscular (Banner), or just have him grow hair (McCoy/Langowski) – but all come with bestial strength and agility.

    TIME TRAVEL
SEEN BY – Dr Sam Beckett, Dr Who (though technically he needs a device to do it, he is an ICON in this regard)
Time travel is the most Promethean talent, since it can change any outcome within space and time. We could have Wheejack from the future/past, or have Wheeljacks from different eras co-existing. It’s a fountain of potential that if done right could lead to some great stories.

    BIOMOLECULAR SHIFTING
SEEN BY – Reed Richards/Mr Fantastic
To expand any part of your body and mold it into anything, while being a TF fundamental (especially with mass shifting), could be done to the next level with Wheeljack, where he can extend his body into a variety of shapes (Richards) and/or shrink it into a variety of sizes.

Which super-ability do you think the super-scientist Wheeljack deserves, if he were to have one?

I'm in the crowd of one who thinks BIOMOLECULAR SHIFTING sounds awesome. Except he already has that ability.

    bestiality - Wiktionary
"An animal-like instinct or behaviour." Like McCoy, or Connors. Am I missing something?

Yeah, I'd definitely go with Bestiality too, and surprisingly enough not just because of the obvious. Like, as cool as time travel & widespread shifting are (although transforming could easily be grouped into this), the Hulk/Lizard comparisons make more sense to me for his character, almost regardless of which incarnation we're starting with.
