OK, I’m looking for some advice. I’m thinking of selling my Joe’s, I have the 25th line complete up to wave 5 MOSC/MISB with all variants except black timber and gold PDD Destro. The reason is two part, first there’s a bot that I want, sort of a “Holy Grail” for me, that I found MIB at a rather good price. The money that I get from the Joe’s should cover it, plus some extra. The other thing is, I don’t know if I’m really still interested in them any more. I started collecting them because of the TF drought that followed the movie release, and kind of became obsessed with them. I don’t know if it was just a passing obsession, or if I’ve lost interest just because I haven’t been able to find one since well before X-Mas.

I guess my question is this: Have any of you ever sold of part of your collection or all of a collection in pursuit of something else, and if so did you regret it afterwards. I guess I’m just trying to weigh the pro’s and con’s of selling my Joe’s.

    Advice fellas?

I have sold nearly all or part of my collection at one time. I did end up regretting it and have since restocked with what I sold and more. I used to collect mainly binaltechs and Masterpieces. I ended up selling everything except MP Prime. At first I didn't regret it at all but after about 6 months I found myself with the urge to get them again. I thought I would just get a couple to display with my MP Prime. I got Hound and Silverstreak and after that I ended up buying most of the rest. Although this time I got Alternators version to avoid paint chipping. After that I told myself I would get the G1 reissues Prime and Soundwave. I got the TFC Prime and Soundwave and liked the boxes they came in so much I hunted down the entire TFC bookstyle reissues and then started getting many of the ehobby stuff and now I am filling in the gaps with vintage G1. It has been a very expensive year for me. I have gotten rid of many non-transformers toys and never regretted it like I did with my transformers. It sounds like GI Joes are not your main interest so I say sell and get your grail.

    hahah

and I'm doing this now in matter of fact, so who knows. Anyhow, I've sold some items of mine before, and no, I have yet to regret it. First, I make a point of emphasis of which ones I MUST keep because I either like them or I KNOW that they'll be worth more later on, ala 3-5 years from now.

I just sold my Brave Max actually, sure, there's an empty spot on the shelf right now where he use to be, but that won't last long, and I don't regret selling him...I rather have the original then the gnarly colored copy IMO.

If you know that you are going to regret something, then do it to the fullest

I need to find my quotebook because that doesn't sound right..
