A pure black colorscheme didn't quite work out as expected, so I settled with a dark turquoise/blue scheme, since I used G2 Dreadwing as one inspiration for his transformation.

My rendition of Movie concept Shockwave. Alt mode is a modified B-2 Stealth Bomber. Was interesting to design along the movie aesthetic. 

Wanted to stay along with the insect/crustacean look, while making his head design appear more like an evil night owl/skull. Doesn't speak with a true mouth, but has the facial spikes and vents to help convey facial expressions/emote.

Function: Chief of Decepticon Military Science and Weapons division

Bio: With the Fallen's demise and the Decepticon army left weakened, outnumbered and in disarray, Shockwave felt that change had to occur. Ever since the Autobot alliance with the humans, the Decepticons were in danger of slowly being hunted down to extinction. Having discovered a new way of artificially creating Energon by exploiting Earth's natural resources and a way of making their Decepticon signatures undetectable, Shockwave concluded that it was his time to lead and command--with the only obstacle standing in his way: Megatron.

To me, he's cold and calculating, but not entirely devoid of emotions--something of a mix between comic IDW and Marvel G1 Shockwave.
His ultimate goal is to experiment with Optimus' Matrix of Leadership in order to give life to a new Decepticon army/power up Nemesis.

Abilities:
-Upgraded armor allow protection against NEST and Autobot weaponry
-Signature dampners and back boosters allow for greater speed and stealth operations
-Shoulder mounted claws can serve as additional crab-like arms when ranged combat is not an option. Claws possess galva-conductors and null-ray capabilities, allowing Shockwave to paralyze his enemies before delivering the final blow w. his left arm nuclear-powered laser cannon. Although not as brutally aggressive in close combat as Megatron, he nevertheless more than makes it up with his steely and precise tactical abilities, advanced firepower, and intelligence.

WOW.
That is epic.

 

It does look spectacular. Big fan of the gargantuan proportions, which I think are quite appropriate given the size of the B-2. The mechanical detailing is extremely well done (I especially like the design of the feet). Also, I really like the way the huge shouldered look gives Shockwave a daunting, imposing appearance. Only thing I am not so sure on is the face, if it was a bit more faithful, I think it'd anchor the design. Overall, one of the best so far for me.

 

I think you'd have a bit of a fan-uprising for not including the single optic face there man Haha
But the level of detail and quality of drawing is stunning here.
Only gripes I have are how insanely huge he is for a Stealth Bomber and his face.
All in all Awesome!

 

Very big and intimidating, and very nicely drawn as well! I'm not really feeling it though; he's too much of a departure visually for someone who sticks so close to the original personality. The stance is also a bit weird; the legs don't look like they can support all that weight, being bend over so much forward, and he doesn't really look like the leader type either. Starscream is brutish as well, but you can still buy him being a potential commander, this guy looks more like a bruiser, or Omega Supreme esque weapon. Worst though is that you can't really tell what he turns into.  

Sorry if I come across harsh, just offering a few points of critique.

 

He's... huge. I like it, but it for the most part the film Transformers are very complex but streamlined and sleek, which is why they're so graceful.

 

WOAH! That is spectacularly badass in robot mode!

 

I didnt think you'd have time for this, glad I was wrong! This is beast!

 

All that detail, it's amazing! I don't know where the face is, but that's about the only thing I have against this.

 

Complex, sexy, and I want to see it animated!!

Thanks for all the feedback guys! And don't worry about the critique, Ra88, it's fine.  I was more or less going for a mix of evil scientist/Igor with a crab like body, and didn't want to stick with the same skinny bipedal body previous Shockwave incarnations had. If he looks brutish, it's partially because of the exaggerated perspective and because I wanted him to have some hand to hand combat abilities.

Just wanted to stick with the one eye motif and left cannon in terms of design. First post is updated with colorscheme and head design with rough TFing sketch.

I like that you've made him brutish actually, this alt. mode would make him a real behemoth. And, after Devastator, if he came in on the third film, it'd make sense he'd be one of the more intimidating Decepticons physically as well as in personality terms, (thinking of the visual impact when he arrives) plus it'd make him seem a real threat to the likes of Megatron and Starscream.
