With Lockdown appearing to be one of the most badass Transformers we've seen in the 30 year history of the franchise (IMHO), I've been doing a bit of thinking about Lockdown's reputation on Cybertron..

Whoever employed him (Many believe it is the Quintessons, so let's say it's them for arguments sake) did so for a good reason. He seems to have the resources, tactics, and has been built up as a powerhouse thus far (from the trailers and tv spots). I think the initial encounter of Lockdown and Optimus will be very telling, and may provide some answers to this topic after the release.

So the main opinions I am trying to gather are whether you think Lockdown is:

-Well known on Cybertron for his work as a ruthless bounty hunter?
-A former Decepticon veteran who lost interest in the war or had other ambitions and became employed by a higher power?
-Is he pretty much unheard of due to his period of time traveling across galaxies hunting down bounties?
-A legend figure, seen by few, but known by many for his work and is someone who was feared by the likes of Megatron, Optimus, Shockwave, Starscream (just to name a few)
-Just an absolute wildcard and mystery figure?

How have you guys viewed Lockdown in this sense? What does his background look like in your minds thus far?
The "who sent you here?" Line by Optimus, which seems to have been directed at Lockdown really got me thinking about this.

not sure all i know is that he has become the single part of the movie i am most excited about which i didnt think was possible once we knew dinobots were in. lockdown looks like he could be not just the best transformers movieverse villain, but one of the best movie villains period. really hoping he lives up to the hype AND lives past this movie.

I'm sure he will have at least some notoriety. Doesn't seem like the type of guy that Optimus would be completely in the dark about.

I would look @ boba fett in the star wars novels....for a comparable existence or story for lockdown.

He probably struck out on his own after getting jaded and tired of fighting for megatron....might have some professional comrades that he would cooperate with in certain jobs if more force or troops are needed.

Probably has enemies or "competition" due to the bounty hunter profession.
