Lambo and a truck, big size difference.

Once transform into robot mode there's no reason why he would be able to even match OP in a fight, or even in scale/size.

He looks evenly sized with OP in robot mode in the movie..

    Design overlook ?

The inconsistency between the sizes of Lockdown's robot and vehicle modes was intentional. They wanted Lockdown to be a cool sports car but they also wanted him to be a formidable villain (which is why he's as big as Prime when he's in robot mode).

Also, it is in keeping with what his previous toys for Animated and Revenge of The Fallen were able to do.

Even if Lockdown was smaller than a Prime, why shouldn't he be able to match him? Optimus took on Grimlock several times.

I believe he meant how the alt modes of them were small but his robot mode was tall/lanky.

But which specific bot was he talking about? Optimus or Lockdown?

Size and alt modes have nothing to do with power. Bumblebee and Optimus are both powerhouses who have taken on some tough foes.

More importantly, Lockdown is popular with the fans. So its okay for him to be super strong.

Given the context clues and this very thread, I'd say he meant Lockdown.

I'd rather question how Optimus was able to easily tame something that's at least 5x his size with one hit to the face.

In the final fight scene you can see that he is smaller (kinda hard to see though because of the weird camera angles and prime being hunched over in pain most of the time).

Also, Prime looks like he got smaller as well, just more bulky. You can really see that is is smaller in the scene when he's confronting Joshua in KSI, when he's standing next to Crosshairs. It surprised me.

Lockdown is thin and lanky which stretches him out more and Prime has gotten bulkier so it appears to have shortened him a bit.

It looked like Optimus actually cracked Grimlock's face while he was in robot-mode, and then broke his jaw when he was in Dino-mode. Basically, Optimus damaged both of Grimlock's faces.

I'm wondering if Grimlock healed from those injuries; his jaw seemed fine in later scenes as he was chewing on Vehicons.

IIRC, Lockdown was still shorter. Plus, the mass can be displaced differently for different characters. Most of Lockdown's mass seems to contribute to his height; what he lacks in bulk he gains in height. So I suppose it makes sense

On another note, why are people saying Optimus got shorter? I didn't see any indication of that. The ratio of his to Bumblebee's height is the same. Drift and Crosshairs are about as tall as BB, so they're the same. And Hound is taller than Ironhide was, so he is closer to Prime than the former.

To be frank, Lockdown did kick Optimus' aft (even if it was a younger OP) in his first appearance.

And what if Optimus is smaller in AOE because he was damaged while on the run, leaving behind parts and pieces whenever he was attacked with no time to repair them?
