I recently found something quite interesting about Voyager Demolishor; as far as I'm concerned nobody fucking knows how to transform this guy. Hasbro even contradicts itself on how exactly that toy should be configured.

In essence, Demolishor can be transformed two ways. The first method has the wheels sandwiched between his head stretched as high as possible (creating an I shape), thus putting a lot of space between his head and wheels.
    IMG_9559.jpeg
The second method more strongly resembles what the SS & CGI model did by compressing the connection between his armpits(?) and wheels to create a sort of Z shape.
    IMG_9558.jpeg
I'm aware that Hasbro in the 2000s loved mistransforming figures in stock pictures. The thing is that this problem often didn't exist in the photobrushed version of the stock image that ends up on the back of the box with the stats and bio. Often. There was one exception:

    (Instruction sheet) - Z shape
    IMG_9553.jpeg
    (Box art) - I shape
    IMG_9556.jpeg

The fuck is going on here? Also for the record the less polished stock image that you'll usually see as the first image of a product on Amazon uses the I configuration too:

Also, Seibertron, which I tend to trust to NOT mistransform their figures in their gallery of photos, also uses the I configuration:
    IMG_9557.jpeg

Now maybe Hasbro just couldn't decide how to make him look. Or they changed their minds after the instruction sheet had be printed. Okay, then why does Japan use the Z configuration for their version of Demolishor?
    IMG_9555.jpeg

And like look, this is an insanely peeve-y issue. I'm aware of that. But I feel like this is something that interests me so I wanna know more about it. If you own Demolishor which configuration do you use for him?

Custom Starscream from Blitzwing (plus a hint of another big toy I got). Digibash concept provided by @cooler36 and custom completed by @Maximus Danz.

Not only are both the toy and the deco amazing, but that added personal touch from two of my best friends really helped reinvigorate my love for Transformers again.

Oh yeah, that's how I always transformed the original. The way he was on the box looked like total ass.

Happened to drive by target, mostly empty shelves but I did find this guy. Pretty much the only SS figure I’ve been interested in this year. :)

You might have better luck at getting a concrete answer on the "correct" transformation if you can hunt down the takara instructions anywhere, since there's a chance those will have a different outcome.

The same issue was had with rotf voyager Mixmaster's turret mode, where Hasbro's instructions and promo images made it look like the toy was misassembled and couldn't properly transform into the turret. But after finding some barely-functioning forum page from 2009, I saw someone had posted the proper configuration based off the takara instructions, and it all worked perfectly. The toy wasn't misasembled, the folks at Hasbro just didn't know what they were doing.

Takara designed most of these toys, so they're normally right when they transform them.

I really in need to get my hands on a yolopark figure. I find transformers action figures tend to be a good time, when they're made of hard plastic.

    Speaking of which... 1000006901.jpg 1000006900.jpg

Yeah. I could see the b127 mild being a good base for a remold. That, or they make his Camaro form from the movie.

I'd rather they use the jeep version as a basis, B-127 has a horrible leg transformation

20240414_180554.jpg nice robot mode...difficult to finesse onto vw van though...afraid of breaking the doors... 20240414_182816.jpg not much to say about boring vehicle, except much less fun to transform than his predecessors

This looks fantastic and is something Hasbro should be releasing themselves in my opinion

I think the thing is, I'm OK with the Bayverse being over, because 1) nothing lasts forever and 2) especially in Transformers, iterations come and go. Armada came and went, TFP came and went, etc. The movies are obviously at the highest profile by their very nature, but they're still one iteration of a cyclical brand (in theory).

Except Studio Series came out *after* TLK and I always envisioned it as the last hurrah, an exhaustive last sweep of the Bayverse (and any other live action films) cast before closing the book and moving on.

But the rug kind of got pulled out from us a couple of years ago and we haven't really recovered despite brief flashes of attention over the last few years. I would have much preferred the timeline where Bayverse SS was allowed to continue at its current pace and was wrapped up by now, allowing Studio Series to either end or be refreshed with other things.

Unfortunately we are now in the state of constant reliving of nostalgia and that is true of both ongoing toylines. The third numbering system introduced in SS is for games you literally cannot purchase anymore. And yet because us movie fans have kind of been robbed of closure and there's no real timeline or end in sight, it just creates a complete lack of enthusiasm. I'll buy what comes out, but I just have much less interest in participating in active discussion these days.
