Movie The Best repaint of ROTF Voyager Megatron, the other is a custom Onslaught out of DOTM Voyager Prime.

 

That onslaught is beautiful! . This figure is so out of proportion buff that proportions for the most part work

 

its the regular version painted, and a custom dotm prime based more on this

than the original onslaught

 

Well then nicely done, cause it looks painted like the MTB version.

And it's kinda better than the design we got tbh.

Recently got Hot Rod and Crosshairs. Was fortunate enough to get Crosshairs on sale, which is good, because he really is a mixed bag. It's hard to transform him without things popping off and I'm pretty sure his removeable back kibble is just an attempt at turning a flaw into a feature. "It's meant to pop off easily, we swear". Really not sure he's that big of an improvement over the old mould, although these pics really highlight how clunky the old one looks.



His robot mode is a bit neater and there's a fair increase in articulation, although I'm not a fan of how flat the car mode is, even if the AOE version might be a little too chunky. I think there's middle ground that the TLK Premier version looked like it got right, which this new version didn't. Still, he looks nice with Premier Hound and SS Helicopter Drift (as well as AOE Bee, which I couldn't be bothered finding the mask for).



Oh and Hot Rod was meh. He looks better in pics. If you, for some reason, feel you have to see my pics of him, you can find some, along with some others of Crosshairs, in this post: Post your most recent TF purchase....

Unfortunately TLK Crosshairs might be the best version of him we have for now. SS Crosshairs has the better paintwork as far as standard-line releases go, but TLK has the superior engineering, and AOE is just meh in the middle.

The way I see it, paintwork is easy to fix. Engineering, however, is not. So I’d rather have shit paint than shit engineering. Lesser evil.

 

You made me think back to what I bought this year. I regret thinking about how much it all cost  .

On another note, very impressive collection. I still need to try and pick up that jetfire, assuming that’s the Oversized one. Are you liking him, and would you say it’s a good figure to mess with?

SS is far superior in every way, not just the paint

I do much prefer the bulk and depth of TLK body vs SS being flat and hollow… though I would be tempted to swap out the SS head onto the TLK body because the sculpt is perfect.

The TLK decepticons are honestly the lamest bunch of losers in all the movies, IMO. The only group where if I never get figures of them I wouldn't be sad. Onslaught and Dreadbot are third tier re-shells, hasbro messed up giving us a proper Nitro Zeus TWICE so I've just lost all desire for him, Mohawk is fun and I have the transcraft one and the dr wu one cause I'm a sucker for bike bots but he's far from "essential", and honestly if there are more than that I don't even remember cause they're all so forgettable. TLK Megatron and Barricade are the only two worth anything in that sorry bunch!

Agreed, EXCEPT he doesn't have double-jointed elbows. But yeah, he's a way better figure. People just aren't trying hard enough to get around a few quirks. The shoulders are legitimately annoying though.

Crosshairs IS flat though. He's a really slender dude, not meant to be bulky in the least.

 

The DOTM childhood collection I never had just gained a new member!

Really stunning paint! Unlike the rest of DOTM. I plan on getting Laserbeak & Murderbee soon, hopefully with a Skyhammer when I find him at a good price.

Well he’s a stunning display piece. I’m still learning to “play” with figures his size. But he’s not disappointed me so far.
