And yes,I do agree that those flaws existed in previous toys, however, one can’t deny that the blockier, and smaller the toys get (G1 thing they’re going for), the more their articulation will be lacking so to blockiness off the figure.

All the extra kibble the toys have nowadays is due to the constant downsizing of the figures, so that I can’t blame on G1 thing.

 

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more. Yeah battletrap's alt mode seems to have a few issues, but overall it looks like an amazing figure that really captures the likeness well. Also, of all the SS figures you could have posted, you decided to compare him to Blitzwing? His alt mode is one of the worst in the line at voyager scale   A whole-ass folded up robot on the underside, and the jet parts aren't accurate at all. Plus his robot mode, although cool af, has pieces falling off all the time and many people's copies don't peg together at the torso. If I put blitzwing in a storage box then pull him out again, I guarantee both the gas tanks and at least one of the wings will be at the bottom of the box. And yeah Galvatron is an awesome figure too. They had an impossible task and they made a really nice figure from it overall, with great details and really great posability. I don't care as much about accuracy when the design is based on a flying lego man who doesn't look even a little bit like a transformer, and they're only charging $30.

Battletrap's articulation looks excellent, it looks quite accurate to what we've seen of the design, and despite being a blockier design, it's actually quite detailed and unique (unlike most of the other designs in the film).

 

Man, I must’ve gotten lucky with Blitz. Aside from the gas tanks, which I fixed with floor polish, he tabs in perfectly fine.

I actually love Blitz, but it’s more of personal thing, bcs his alt mode, inaccurate is it may be, reminds me of the toy jets I used to play with as a kid.

 

I see your points about Battletrap actually and I am honestly glad others think differently as I do wanna see the perception of others in this! I just personally cannot get past the truck mode except the front. It legitimately looks very very ugly and with the very off-putting panels on the sides and the very obvious robot mode feet. Like even bringing up Galvatron again where they did the impossible I legitimately think that he succeeds far better in truck mode because despite the feet atleast the rest of the truck mode is fairly good while Battletrap's is just an overall mess. Love the on-set truck tho. I have hardly any problems with the robot tho except the lack of wrists.

However I disagree about Blitzwing. He is definitely not one of the worst in terms movie jet voyagers. I think the way everything opens up and flips around to form the jet is very impressive considering how surprisingly simple the transformation is and the actual jet mode I think gets a lot of hate. It may not be a licensed F-4 Phantom but it still looks nice imo. Does it have plenty of an underside? Yeah but a lot of movie jets do especially in SS. But atleast I think the way the arms hide in to be pretty clever and the feet blend in well thanks to the bland af color scheme. The only real issue on my copy is the torso which is universal but I got past it once I learned to handle him. The gas tanks are also pretty good on my copy and I am a big fan of how all of his accessories hide behind the wings for storage to not take away from his amazing robot mode. Personally Blitzwing is the best SS figure that I've handled so far tho in terms of quality and especially playability though to be fair it's partially due to bias. He was one of my grails when I started collecting and that he turned out as well as he did considering he was both used and pretty expensive. It's just an awsome figure of probably my favourite live-action design.

To finish it off with the Battletrap tho I overall agree despite my issues and I want him to pleasantly surpise me when I get him. I also love the blocky proportions of most BB moviebots so as I am big fan of his actual design.

 

I'm not saying he's a bad figure really, although he's not the best, but as a "THIS is what voyagers should be!" argument he's not a strong one to point at. I think 07/rotf Starscream is much more successful at pulling off a much more difficult jetformer design, for instance.

I mean I don't see much wrong with the truck mode, especially a truck that has a bunch of stuff that I don't really know much about at the back (besides the hook part). I think that was the correct place to compromise on an otherwise awesome-looking figure. We lived for a decade with movie figures that compromised the fuck out of the robot modes for accurate vehicle modes and now I'm glad they switched the priorities around. But just like construction vehicles, I give the accuracy much more of a pass since I don't really recognize a lot of the parts since I don't look at tow trucks every single day. Plus the colors are nice and the transformation looks fun and complex for that size. But hey if you're into tow trucks and the vehicle mode doesn't do it for you then I get it. I'm sure this won't be the only battletrap figure to ever be made unless the character somehow sucks ass in the film (which I highly doubt) so you may have options eventually.

Blitzwing isn't a bad figure, but if you're specifically talking about Battletrap's vehicle mode being a turn off to you then Blitzwing is objectively a terrible example of how to do it "right" if you're trying to specifically make that point. You can say you like it better (although you don't have battletrap in hand so it's already unfair), but even then that would just be your opinion. Also it doesn't seem like you have most of the SS line to compare anyways, so I would maybe check out some of the other voyagers that appeal to you first as well if you can. Everyone pretty much agrees that when it comes to mainline TFs, voyagers as a whole are the best size class so you have plenty of quality figures to choose from!

And even though the alt mode is sadly cybertronian, it does look very cool and isn't a box or a flying box

Well I did kinda grew up with a tow truck close to me thanks to grandfather. To me it's just too much kibble with the hands and feet. It just throws me off. As for Blitzwing'a alt mode I definitely think it is overhated tho. It's still a decent unlicensed jet.

Honestly now I do see the flaw of my comparison. But yeah I do actually try to get as many SS voyagers as I can. Problem is that most of the them are pretty hard to find rn. But I am getting there. As for Blitzwing though I just love him
