The Fallen and Hot Rod look amazing! Day 1 grabs for sure.

Crosshairs looks ok. His figure looks scrunched up to me. I'm sure he'll grow on me with time.

Edit: just pre-ordered The Fallen and Hot Rod on Pulse. Can't wait to have them!

 

I think when he's referring to the jetpack he's talking about the specific section of molded detail circled below



Jetpack still isn't the correct term, you're right, he didn't have one. Parachute pack maybe? But I definitely don't think he's talking about the whole mass of car kibble

 

Just put in a nice hefty order for the three today, and Galvy, TC, Dotm Bee and Sideways. That'll be a fun box to open!

Today's reveal felt much more refined and articulated which is a relief

 

Looks like I don’t have to go after Premium Finish BBM Optimus anymore.

 

Crosshairs looks okay. Hope will be better in hand.
The Fallen and hotrod looks awesome.
Can't wait.
Now I really hope they make a tlk optimus prime. It is time.

I never usually pre-order figures, but with the rumours of The Fallen not being available at retail in the UK, I just had to be sure I will own one. He's sold out now as well.

 

Huh just realized they all have ball jointed ankles, hope they keep that going

 

I don't think Hot Rod has great feet articulation, but Crosshairs definitely looks like he will

 

Odd, this isn't the first time this has happened with a post-DOTM figure. SS Stinger's shoulders are also based upon an earlier version of his model. That time I thought it was simply because it gave them somewhere to put some the vehicle kibble; Now I'm wondering if they just don't have the final designs for the last two films. Although, it's entirely possible that Hot Rod, similarly, is based on an older model because it's smaller shoulders are easier to hide in vehicle mode.

 

I hope they don't, and give everyone proper ankle pivot hinges like in WFC. Those are far more important for poseability than balljoints that give 1 degree of movement in every direction and become loose within seconds (Looking at you, Grimlock). The implementation on Crosshair looks good though.

Man, I didn't think he was missing that much of his head in DOTM! xD

As for my full thoughts on today's reveals, I think Hot Rod is probably my favorite! Both modes look excellent, they handled kibble management very well. Proportions are on point too!

The Fallen is very close to Hot Rod though, he looks even better from his brief in-hand appearance during the stream! Those arm appendages are spot-on accurate, and the molded detail especially on the mask is perfect! I don't think he could have been done any better.

I was a little offput by Crosshairs at first, but I like it the more I see it. The front parts of the trench coat can articulate off to the side, so that's nice. He's definitely in need of some metallic green paint, but I'm looking forwards to working on that!

We've already seen Laserbeak but I think it's great. Down to get it and the eventual Bumblebee redeco!

Looking at him again my only gripe with The Fallen us the fact that he doesn't have articulated hands. He has Jetfile syndrome where he's holding his staff with completely open palms. Wish they could have done something similar to the HFTD version and had a joint but they were probably already running up again the budget wall for this release. Hopefully DNA design will make something to give him some range in those fingers.
