Does anybody know good paint that could replace my mpm Jazz's Pontiac symbol red?

 

ShowZ seem to have incoming stock of UT Challenger, albeit it seems to be at a higher price than before. Totally recommended for anyone who hasn't got him. I think he's probably my favourite of all the third party figures I've handled

And as annoying as it might be, at least paint chipping won't look very out of place on a Constructicon  

 

Looks excellent, very nice work! I haven’t used primer on figures before but it sounds like a good bet, another round of gloss coat may help a little bit as well.

 

Thank you! And yes haha he can look very dinged up before it looks weird! Problem is now whenever some red chips off its yellow underneath so I have to sort of patch it up with silver or gunmetal or something that won’t look off.

I use 2 stages for that, Bith from Tamiya. the Sparkling Silver and the clear red over that, it gives the silver outline of the pontiac arrow.

But be smart and wash the parts you will paint proper before aplying paint (degreaser or a propper wash with dishwasher soap and water) and rinse and dry.. or else it might chip or come off.

 

The v3 may have solved the shoulder and hip issue but i ran into a broken ankle. I have not seen this ankle issue with Zeuswave anywhere else. My replacement parts are coming, but i feel that it is better to be proactive rather than sorry. I think my fix may be the way to go.

I have reinforced the hollow bits with epoxy. I can now tighten that ankle area as tight as i want. I just need to find a lower profile bolt head (although this is not so bad after i painted it gunmetal)

 

Instead it's better this way... indeed, scrape off some more paint! Did you forget that the CGI in the film had the paint almost completely peeled off the body? After all, don't forget that we are talking about Constructicons... having the paint perfectly distributed on their bodywork is not realistic for the job they do!

Yes good point thank you! I don't like seeing the yellow underneath though. If it were chipping off and showing metal colors like in the film that would be much more acceptable.

What did you do? And would it not be better to try and get his leg from the knee down? If the foot is fragile or broken, getting the leg might be the way to go, you dont have to put force on the foot. dont use the force Lock..
