It's Zeta Flash, from what I've heard the build quality is better on the Zeta version. Although, I still had to do some fixes with some of the joints and tabs. The most annoying fix that I had to do was fixing the shoulders. The screws were so loose the shoulder rotation joint were disconnected after a few rotations. I had to dismantle the whole shoulder assembly just to access the screw head.

So I got Studio Series Jolt in, and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. He looks fantastic, but the actual play-ability of him is lacking. I feel like a few little things here and there would have made him great. Also the transformation feels like I'm going to break him in several different places. Which leads me to one of my questions:

    1. What do you guys use to shave down tabs? Just regular sandpaper, or some kind of file? I definitely want to do the hood tabs, the ones from the door that plug into the window, and the ones on the back.

    2. Has anyone tried swapping the hands? Looks like it's just one pin, but I didn't want to go through the trouble if there's something that doesn't fit. It would allow his whips to be on the outside instead of the inside.

    Thanks!

So I was really conflicted on getting SS RotF Sideswipe, and I said no to buying it after repainting the DotM version. Then, upon seeing it at a local Walmart, the thought of comparing it to my custom in hand became appealing.

    IMG_20211015_143721__01.jpg

The back kibble is not as distasteful as I expected it to be, but it is pretty sizeable in both height and depth.

    IMG_20211015_144316__01.jpg

I do think I'll keep him for the alt mode if anything, but it's not a terrible release by any means.

Also, I finally made my custom SS Prime as tall as the voyager Emo Prime. He scales much better with SS Ironhide now because of it.

    Edit:

    IMG_20211015_145739__01.jpg

I just transformed RotF Sideswipe, and I digress. No matter how much I fiddle with it the front wheels do not touch the surface nor will the sides come together nice and tightly. The alt mode gaps and the front wheels really bug me.

I shaved the rear car tabs with a hobby nipper, although you can use Sanding stick for a slower approach, I'm just impatient haha

    Nice job on Prime!
When it comes to SS ROTF Sideswipe.. am I the only one bothered by the wheels and the missing headlights?
I know they are still 5 spoke wheels but the ROTF ones were totally different in design.. they had no deep dish look (quite the opposite even)

Well spotted I never noticed the wheel differences, but the lack of headlights does irrationally bother me every time I see the altmode

Newage Mista might be one of my all-time favorite Bayverse figures… they really knocked this one out of the park!

Hey guys! Wanted to let you know that my poll for a future Studio Series projects ends tomorrow. We got quite a few votes in, but I wanted to put out a last reminder for anyone who missed the original post. The options are:

    Crankcase (TLK Berserker) & Crowbar

    Brawl

    B-127 (Bayverse-styled repaint)

Decepticon Bikes (Repaint of SS Arcee/Chromia/Elita-1 to resemble the Decepticon enemies from the Human Alliance arcade game)

Make sure to quote this post so I can add your vote!

Decepticon Bikes are currently in the lead, followed by Brawl.

I had a similar problem. The grey swivel part that holds the "wings" weren't fully pinned all the way in.

    20211007_153228.jpg 20211007_153025.jpg

It's nearly impossible to have the clearance to work on pushing that capped pin further so I made a little contraption consisting of some pliers and a small thick screw taped to one end and the other end covered with some tape/sticky note to prevent plier marks when squeezing the capped pin further in and it worked
