The thing is, is that he was supposed to be Wheeljack, but just like Mirage, they changed his name.. for a different reason though.

So I'm personally ok with him being Que, as to me, he's a completely different character.

But to me, while I did like G1 Wheeljack's alt mode, his robot mode was just..no. That said, I LOVED the Wheeljack/ Drift mix that TFs Prime did!! The bot mode was Wheeljack, with some changes, but with a completely badass attitude, and the swords to go with it!!

 

Jolt is getting more ambitious…

Yeah agree with all this   also, TFW desperately needs a better emoji system. This shit is like from 2005 (ironic!).

 

It should be at the KO MPM Starscream post. I see that the eta is Nov/Dec!

 

It is probably Wheeljack’s new name after his surgery. In DOTM prequel comic, Wheeljack was heavily damaged in comic and Ratchet fixed him and he became Que in the movie.

If I were to make character decisions, I would make Jolt take Que’s place in DOTM. Actual Wheeljack can still be around somewhere.

 

Que had a great robot mode. Especially using the front of the car as shoulder pads (like TFP Knockout) vs it being the chest like 90% of carbots. The only bad thing was the head and voice. The Takara repaint of Que in the AOE toyline shows that it COULD have been a fantastic Wheeljack (especially with all his tools) but the damn head is nightmare fuel.

 

Am I the only one that actually liked Que's face?

 

I personally didn't like anything abt Que, but if you did, that's cool too.

While I agree that it was good to have the front of the car somewhere other than the chest, Que wasn't built for battle, and his robot mode was too... sluggish looking??... for a lack of a better word.

Looking at the bodies of the bots, they're mostly agile looking, and everything abt Que just screamed old man. I personally think that the whole Einstein thing was a poor design.

I figured I'd finally get to painting SS-29 DotM Sideswipe, since I don't like the new backpack on the new RotF Sideswipe. I might as well make mine look better than factory, right?

How difficult was it to remove the pins from his feet wheels?

I did the mod to cut off his elf shoes but I want to pull the silver pieces out and give them a black paint job so they blend in better.

Thank you. I drilled a tiny hole into the center of the rim, and through that hole I tapped out the wheel pins.

Edit: added more weathering to his weapons

 

He looks great! But that second pic, dude it actually made me LOL, looks like he's naked haha!

If I can make one suggestion: I painted the vehicle mode windows black on mine and it made it look way better to me. You may want to try it too!

 

Your work is always breathtaking. There are a lot of really good custom painters in this thread, but your stuff is the only stuff that is guaranteed to make me stop and stare every time

 

SPECTACULAR work, it looks so good!

 

Dino is a real surprise to me. A modern deluxe that instead of just having the entire car form a backpack or shell, cleverly folds the roof into his torso and uses portions of the car to make up the curves of his legs and arms. He doesn't have any kibble that gets in the way, has a decent amount of paint, and is fun to transform and mess with. I haven't had this much fun in ages, and he really caught me off guard. I am concerned with the clear plastic hinges however, still disappointed with Hasbro's overuse of those. Props to whoever designed this guy, feels like someone with the mindset of older movie figures. Took a bit too many pictures, so they'll be split up. These are the main ones of just dino and the others will be of him in a more (dotm movie) style.



He even seems to work with older DOTM figures. I'm surprised how well he fits with crankcase. It almost feels like they were from the same toyline!
