Finally got around to opening car Shatter.
Really wish she had better sideward motion in her hips, since the current range is almost non-existent.
The portions of the hood that turn into her tiny "wings" in robot mode really peg in right in vehicle mode, it's really difficult to get them back out. Gonna have to shave the pegs there...
Transforming her, some aspects remind me of Car Dropkick, like how the chest/car hood is formed, and how the legs transform. It's almost like Dropkick is a refined version of Shatter.

Everything below the waist for me is incredibly floppy. Only the fact that he's chicken legged allows him to stand at all.

Hello! Been a while since my last post here, but I just wanna get some advice on a problem on my SS Dino.

If you are wondering why you see half of a Faux-rrari here, it’s because the hinge joints holding the other half of his body have snapped off.

I’ve shoddily stuck them back together in hopes of salvaging them, but then I saw the metal pin.
    3107FB7A-48A0-4618-9843-E3723966F089.jpeg
Oh, if you’re wondering why it broke, my obsession of getting the figure closer to a Ferrari was the culprit. I was rubbing alcohol on the center piece with a Q-tip. Either the alcohol destroyed the plastic, or I was putting too much pressure on the joint (I wanted to blame the design choice of using clear plastic which was bound to break after multiple transformations, but I can only blame my own stupidity).

That being said, before I hunt down another copy, I wanna try salvaging it. I know I need a pin punch to take the pin out, but I saw some tips on how to potentially fix the hinge using epoxy putty or plastic weld? Anyone have any experience with this kind of problem? Thanks in advance for the advice!

I'm in no hurry to get Jolt, but seeing everyone with one makes me think I should be.

And so the breakages begin. Hasbro really needs to stop making figures with load-bearing parts out of clear plastic.

Just curious, how does rubbing alcohol in that area make him closer to a Ferrari? What lind of mods were you lookong to do (i want a Ferrari Dino too). I do believe you can salvage him with epoxy. I imagine youd have to drill a hole for the pin to go through as the epoxy might fill in the hole.
While clear plastic is inherently weak, he is actually lucky the alcohol did not melt the plastic!

By removing the red paint on the center piece, I was trying to emulate the 458's engine bay:
    4708070189_36d4895c31_b.jpg
In addition to the Ferrari emblems that I was about to paint in, that was pretty much only what I wanted to do since I did not want to cut or modify anything mold-wise as I am not particularly skilled in doing so. I'm also deciding on whether I should 3D print the rims of the 458 as well to fit on the figure.

In the case of epoxy, do you recommend cutting off the old hinge and sculpting a new one, or fixing the actual hinge? Yep also realizing now I definitely dodged a bullet with alcohol and plastic. Curse my obsession for accuracy!

The problem with epoxy is you are adding stuff to fix it, whereas a cement melts the two pieces together to fuse them. The location is problematic as it is a hinge that requires no extraneous bits sticking out. I dont have experience with cement on clear plastic though so i hope someone can chime in as i think this is the better solution.

Does this version of shatter still have the qc issues?

I'm so fucking sick of Hasbro using clear plastic. Like what's the damn reason for it at this point? I feel like they make these toys cheap on purpose sometimes

Same, I've been waiting for to show up on Amazon but there's nothing but scalper prices surprisingly at this point

Rubbing alcohol eats right though plastic, especial clear plastic, so def stay away from it.

As far as epoxy, that will actually glue everything together in place, including the pin. So you'd lose the swivel.

I had that happen to the swivel on the foot for my ROTF Leader Prime, and was able to fix it, maintaing the swivel, with rubber cement. But the foot is made out of thick plastic.

However, since the plastic you're trying to fix is clear, I think that the cement will eat right through it. Maybe @erwinsims or @savio-prime can better advice on how to fix it.

The shoulder joints like to pop off, especially the right one on mine. Especially during transformation since you're fighting with the hood pieces.

Seeing all these Jolt customs inspired me to do the same. Nothing too major and shoutout to @Shmoptimus Prime for the whip mod.

He’s the best hasbro figure this year IMO. Not nearly as much competition but still a real winner for me.
Dude he literally rubbed alcohol all over it. This is in no way an indicator of the strength of the joint.
    Whips look great!
