It's a fact. Claiming that one thing only applies to a specific race is racial, whether it'd be a bad, or a good thing. And keep in mind, I am not white, nor black. So I'm not being biased towards any side.

I wasn't intending on even saying anything else, and honestly don't intend to. So if you'd like for me to not say more on this, then don't reply to a post from 5 hours ago, that had already died off.

Going Ratchet-free for the next few months. Someone contacted me and bought him (also Thundercracker in case y’all forgot I had him lol) - both for a very good price to make up for their rarity.

I had a hard time liking this guy, but it feels surprisingly emotional, probably more than any sane adult would feel for a toy, to say goodbye. I’ll see you again someday, Ratchet - whether as a new uncustomized copy, as the MTB repaint of the DOTM figure, or as that Takara Premium repaint they’re revealing by the end of the year.

My point was that it was never explicitly stated. You seemed to be arguing that everything in the film is laid out very plainly.

Yeah this was actually the point I was trying to make. The fallen isn't as necessary to the film as the title of the film suggests. Everything could have been accomplished without him, story-wise. Same with the twins, since we had other new autobots who could have accompanied sam/bee on their journey and who could have been developed more.

 

No, it's not a good argument because it's bad faith. You know good and well black people have been historically portrayed as illiterate and stupid. When people point out how an obvious caricature of a black person is racist, this does not make that person racist themselves. That would be like pointing out anti-semitic behavior and then being told you are the real anti semite lol

I'm also aware that one of the characters was voiced by a white man and was more or less supposed to be a hick, but that doesn't make it any better. The fact of the matter is, the Twins played on old (and current honestly) racist tropes of black people and people got mad about it. This isn't a difficult topic to understand, I just think a lot of fans look past it because they enjoyed the characters.

By the way, I don't care if you're black or white or whatever. It doesn't change the argument.

 

Guys, please. Just STOP. Hasbro isn't making the twins, at least not in their current plans. No one cares if you hate or like the twins. If you see them as offensive, then you do. If you don't see them as offensive then you don't. Right now, best bet is some 3rd Party to make SS versions like Dr Wu. And if Hasbro or a 3rd Party does make them, then guess what... YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THEM

 

Whirl was my first of the Human Alliance figures I picked up, and I think he still holds up pretty well as both vehicle and robot.

I liked the concept of the clip on weapons. Wish Hasbro had released some type of weapons pack with a variety of guns and armaments to add to the figures.
His little human buddy looks pissed.
