the explosion effect reminded me of this
Hell yeah. I’d also like to see the SS Twins, if they ever had any mock-up of them done.
Got a little late into the ROTF/ DOTM anniversary deal, and had to move a couple o boxes to get all the figures, but here are some pictures to celebrate the love hate relationship I got with the movies (if there's someone selling MPM ratchet, MPM Ironhide or Robot Replicas Jazz in mexico please dm me :V)
If SS Galvatron ends up happening I wonder how Hasbro’s attempt will look compared to this one
Damn, I hope SS Devcon sees the light of day once all the “main” Bayverse characters are done.
While I’m sure they could pull off a much better Galvatron (even tho the old one’s shellformer style fits in with SS), it would pale in comparison to a MPM style Galvatron, especially from UT.
Not gonna lie if they could figure out a better way to incorporate AoE Galvatron’s backpack he’d probably be regarded as one of the best AoE figures
If you read this, Hasbro designers, please incorporate SS Sentinel's magic for Galvatron. He's a masterclass in managing kibble for kibble-less Bayformer designs.
Stinger is a less advanced but still impressive example, too.
I was at my county fair (San Diego del mar fair) and I saw a lifesize version of DOTM Dino! Well the 2011 Takara Sideways repaint anyways So cool!
Finally figured out how to get the Twins and Arcees on my display so they don't miss out on the fun. Love them!
Mudflap, we bid you return.
Wrong. His rims are supposed to be silver and his windows need to be purple.
I really like him though. One of my best non-SS figures. The red paintjob is total eyecandy, even better in person than on picture.
That R8 is gorgeous!
I never knew that figure had purple windows!
Stopped by a Walmart on my drive out to med school and was surprised to find both Scavenger and Overload were still on shelves. Good to know they’re still out there if people need them!
My RotF display is coming along nicely, even though I need many more Decepticons!!! But @erwinsims is already working on it for me!
Hi guys, does dino shelfwarm at your local stores? I keep finding over 20 dinos in every store I go to and seems that quite a few people also do. I'm kinda shocked since dino was so sought after for years and now he is easily accessible which is great!
My country hasn’t gotten the wave with Dino :”)
You live in Singapore, right? Sounds like a damn paradise over there.
My DNA Design MPM Ironhide upgrade kit (try saying that three times fast) arrived today! Can't wait to get him fitted up and see how he handles!
AOE Galvatron is very much a figure of its time, if that makes sense. Transformers toys as a whole were only really starting to bounce back in terms of quality after some pretty rough lines between 2010 and 2012. That, and this was the first time Hasbro had worked on movie designs for toys in nearly three years, not to mention the fact that they were being handed these insane designs with very little vehicle kibble that needed to be turned into functioning, workable toys at a price point between $10 and $45
Honeslty I don't think the back pack is that much of a big deal. Considering that it's literally the entire truck cab, it compresses down super nice, and doesn't really interfere with anything. It breaks his silhouette, sure, but that never really bothered me
Personally I think the biggest flaws of this toy were the paint job on the more widely available Hasbro version - the Takara version doesn't add much in terms of paint but it goes a long way to making the figure look a lot better - and his super short thighs. Honestly I'd be quite happy for Hasbro to release something very similar to this down the line if they fixed those two issues, and maybe threw in a waist swivel while they were at it
But if they can do better, I'd love to see it, and I'd happily buy it
The way Transformers works in my area (I live in Texas) is a store will stock a few cases of a new wave then it will fizzle out before selling out for good. Dino by no means is a shelf warmer in my area
Yeah those short thighs are the worst offender than the shell-pack, I still want to get him though just to be in the collection because SS Galvatron is a long time coming.
