Does mother know thy weareth her drapes?
not DOTM related but there is a movie in there somewhere..
My custom Bumblebee is almost done!
Thanks for saying this in a concise and understanding way. I completely agree.
Oh dude I KNOW. I mourn BA Ironhide every day.
I don't think that's true. Details require designers and modelers, who cost money (I am a designer, and I know someone pays me for my time). Not to mention custom tooling fees, cost of producing samples which may be more expensive or difficult to make, etc. Overall I'm not exactly happy about the cost going up, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that making them better doesn't cost money for them. $20 was a decent round number and it stayed that way for a while, but now that they seem to be going up to $25 it's a really hard pill to swallow. If they remain $25 for deluxes then I too will become much more selective about which ones I purchase, especially since bayverse seems to have slowed to a trickle.
Thanks bro, I did as well, and I'm glad to hear that you did too!! But, yvw on the gun, I'm glad that it went to a good home!!
Is your daddy home?
I feel you on this, but these are already existing designs that they're simply transferring to plastic, they're not creating them, I would've otherwise understood that point.
As far as modelers, tooling fees, and samples, these are all expenses that Hasbro already has calculated into their costs, bcs this isn't new to them.
They're not starting a business from the ground up and having to hire all a bunch of specialists/ professionals in these fields. These employees are already in their books... for a lack of better term.
It's the same for the equipment they use. Sure they may need to replace parts of the equipment from time to time, but these costs are considered business expenses, and shouldn't be passed on to the consumer.
Hasbro has been in the transformers toy business for years, and if these costs were truly the issue, we would've been suffering from these price hikes a long time ago.
Hey, I'm Blackout. What's a nice set of propellers like you doing in a place like this?
Yeah I’m sure they have calculated them into their costs, which is why they’re so expensive! The price of things doesn’t stay the same, they go up. So when the price of making a thing goes up to the point where they’re not hitting their margins the product either gets production costs cut or the price of the item goes up. It’s always gonna happen eventually. Plus I know for a fact that right now the price of shipping containers is nearly double what it was not too long ago. I think anyone who makes things in Asia is dealing with this issue. I’m not trying to argue that it’s not too expensive for what we’re getting or whatever, I’m simply trying to say that there are reasons for the increase in the cost of things beyond “they decided they wanted to have more money” or “they are just lazy” I promise there are other reasons.
I def feel you on this, and like you, I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm just saying that this wouldn't be an issue if the toys weren't so small. Sure there'd be some kibble.. but nowhere near as bad. That's all.
I honestly wouldn't mind paying more for studio series figures because these "toys" are sometimes a bit TOO fragile for kids. In experience, when I was 11/12 collecting the cyberverse legends-class figures of dotm, even at their scale I thought they were quite complex already. I would say studio series is not suitable for kids and the budget kills some of these figures... But that also doesn't stop me from loving them either way
Australia (or anywhere else besides target USA) never got Lead foot, and buying on eBay is about triple the retail price
That's an awesome legends/Cyberverse collection! Who's the little silver guy next to Devastator, it kinda looks like Brawl?
Totally true! And there’s no doubt they’re getting small to the point of being an issue. Not the actual size but more the complexity that they’re attempting. There’s a limit to how small you can make pins and hinges and whatnot.
I’m just hoping the new movie gives us some dope figures and not cheap-feeling ones that are based on early concept art. I think overall SS was great for bayverse and overall a great toyline and I’m hoping they continue that on into the future.
Damn man, these guys are phenomenal. Literally my childhood physically in front of me. Ratchet and Bonecrusher should be here soon!
I ordered ut galavatron and now its saying "failed - contraband" before it left China...oh the irony.
I have obtained the Megs!! Finally!!
I think that the size does play into it though, bcs they'd be able to get away with the complexity they're aiming for if the figures were a little bigger.
I'm so excited for the new movie though!! I've avoided all videos and posts abt the plot/ storyline!!
I know that Prime, Bee, Arcee, Primal, Airazor, and a dumbed down version of Rhinox (whyyyy???), will be the Autobots/ Maximals cast, and that the beast modes will not be organic (boooo). But that's abt it. I don't wanna know anything else abt it!!
I wanna walk into the movie theater with an unbiased opinion of the movie, and just experience it for the first time as I'm watching it!! I haven't been this excited for TF movie since DOTM!!!
I'm not sure why, but I love this version of Megs, so I'm gonna have to break down and get him soon!!
I liked your comment not because of what happened to you but because of the aforementioned irony.
Yeah there definitely seems like there’s a LOT going on in this movie but this can only mean more awesome toys hopefully! It’s really hard these days to walk into a big blockbuster film knowing very little about it so I wish you luck dude!
