Dino just got delivered from Target.

Haven't had time to take him out of the box since I'm working but it's going to be tough to try and keep him sealed until I get my copy from BBTS. Been a long time since I messed with a new Studio Series figure.

 

Did some organization of SS and calculating where things stand.

To date # wise we are at 72

Baring the 2022 movie and a few other things I can't yet say - there are 22 things coming across Deluxe, Voyager, and Leader.

That brings us to 94

Now factor in SS86 - they still count as SS in my book to date things already confirmed brings 13 total figures.


107 - total boxed SS releases over a 5 year period.

 

APS-01U pricing is still unfortunately high...and going even higher these days. $290 is 'cheap' now.

Legendary OP isn't too bad on eBay at least although still around $100. Legendary Nemesis Prime version has stealth mold tweaks including hands that can actually hold things.

The Legendary mold oddly has the MP-10 trailer port. TFSafari got some KO MP-10 trailers back in stock. Even the Silver Knight mold is supposed to use the MP-10 trailer but needs a trailer adapter that came with one version of that mold.

 

On average we get about 21.2 a year. That’s a lot better then 0 a year that some continuities get.

 

Alternatively, you could track down the Movie the Best version of Prime and get the FWI Jetwing upgrade (if it's still around). Then you'd only be missing the tri-barrel guns and the shield/front of the stealth mode truck. Maybe the hooks too? I don't remember if they came with MtB.

 

So...what if takara releases a premium finish version for most of the Studio Series line??? If the car mode is painted and wont scratch, I may be in...

Is it weird that I kind of love the truck with all the junk on top? And I haven’t seen Jetfire’s bot mode in over a year so it’s really cool to mess with again. Now I kinda wish I had duplicates of everything so I could have combined mode separate. First world problems!

That's most likely what I'll do but I'm very picky about how the paint apps look on my figures so I'm going to wait and compare my two copies to see which one I want to leave sealed.
