I know there may be some overlap, but my suggestions are:

    Autobots:
    Drift (Helicopter)
    Ironhide (not scalper price)
Rathet (either, but DOTM is the more popular color scheme)
    Bumblebee (2007 camaro)
    Jazz
    Grimlock
    Sideswipe
    Jetfire
    Leadfoot
    Bumblebee (Jeep)

    Decepticons
    ROTF or 2007 Megatron
    Either Starscream
KSI Boss (I use him as my Nitro)
    Jet Shatter
    Car Dropkick
    DOTM Soundwave
    Shockwave
    Blackout
    Sentinel Prime
    Bonecrusher
    Blitzwing

Non Studio Series but can work in that collection.
    AD-12 Optimus Prime
    TLK Hound
    TLK Barricade
    TLK Crosshairs

    2.Mixmaster
    3.Rampage

Sorry, I just realized I never responded to this post. But it's this section that concerns me with his alt mode 20201111_182519.jpg
It looks too thick when compared to the screen caps of the Seekers. I know that some things can't be helped, but I'd just like to get a better view of the alt mode.

You couldn't have picked three shittier figures if you tried from this line. I recommend literally anything else from studio series.
You joke but the level of excitement I feel for most of the reveals is just about at that level. Then G1 fans call them "long-awaited figures of classic characters" and complain that studio series has four whole optimus primes.

I'm in a bad mood today. My lemontree Optimus was supposed to be delivered but fedex sucks ass and it won't be here til tomorrow at the earliest now. Please say something to make me happy!

Do they really have their arms hanging out on the bottom like that in the movie? I haven't watched it in a while and the opening scene goes by real quick.

Although some fan transformation might help slim down that lower section once someone here get their hands on it.

I have some pretty high standards, but here's a few that I'm impressed.

    Deluxe:
    Carkick
    Jet Shatter
    SS49 Bee
    Scrapmetal
    KSI Sentry
    Helikick (the transformation alone), Helidrift
    Sideswipe
    Leadfoot
Car Drift w/ dinobots (if you can find him less than 40)

    Voyager:
KSI Boss/ Thundercracker (the Nitro Zeus mold is good)
2007 Megatron (just cut off his robo balls and he'll be a lot more better)
Ironhide (if you can find him, just find the DNA kit since his bumper not wrapping around his torso looks awful)
    Bee Optimus
Blitzwing (if you can live with the jet mode)
    Starscream (07/ROTF)
    Bonecrusher

    Leader:
    Jetfire
DOTM Optimus (If you can find him for cheap, the weapons are kinda bleh but the ring is cool as hell)
    Overload
    Scavenger
Shockwave (get the DNA kit to get rid of the obscene amount of soft plastic)
Sentinel Prime (DNA kit for actual weapons)

    Stay the hell away from:
    WW2 Bee
    WW2 Hot Rod
    Car Shatter
    ROTF Soundwave
    ROTF Optimus
    Crowbar/Crankcase/ Beserker mold retools
DOTM Megatron (the transformation tries to do a lot of things but it doesn't really succeed in anything)
ROTF Megatron (the legs are just wayyyy too weird)
Roadbuster (a panely mess that has a huge ass backpack)
    Lockdown (clear plastic cringe)
    Barricade (clear plastic cringe)
    VW Bee
    Cliffjumper (clear plastic cringe)
    SS01 Bee/ SS15 (awful QC)
Ratchet (underpainted, giant backpack, wrong shade of green)

    Other recommendations:
    TLK voyager Megatron
TLK voyager Optimus (he's decent enough, not great but considering how awful the design was the toy is servicable)
    TLK voyager Hound

Considering how much I hate this design, and how much this toy utterly fails to portray it, I genuinely love Calibur Optimus, especially the face.

I hate to say it, but I'm honestly considering getting Movie The Best Nemesis Prime or even Black Knight Prime, despite him lacking the backpack shield, to go with this guy.

I would just like to say thank you to everyone who gave me recommendations! I've put them all in a big list. Thanks to a conviatly timed sale and gift cards, I grabbed DOTM Soundwave a Target for $0.

He is honestly a really good figure and got me back interested in the studio series! My only critiques are one tab broke from unclear transformation (That's what liquid cement is for) and Laserbeak sucks as an accessory. I can't wait to get some more figures!

Just bought Jet Shatter my only regret is that the head is not interchangable with Car Shatter, I've decided to keep Car Shatter and Helicopter Dropkick in their respective alternate modes, while Jet Shatter and Car Mode Dropkick are the main displayed. Maybe in the far future we'll get voyager class Shatter and Dropkick that are capable of triple changing.

Shooting Calibur Optimus got me in the mood. I honestly have huge nostalgia for these moulds, and it's crazy just how big and beefy Leader's used to be. Megatron especially, IMO, is severely under-rated. I find the colourscheme is more appealing than the premium deco, with the nice metallic blue gradient and cool grey. Even the pink feels, I dunno, appropriate?

That last one turned out extra shitty because for some reason every time I took a full body shot of Megs it was blue. Guess my phone likes the colourscheme too.

You can see the gun assembly in the side view here. The figure exaggerates it a little bit, but it’s actually not too far off.

Leader RotF Prime originally had collapsible rear wheels, articulated hands, and the tool boxes folded down.

The first run of RotF Skids left, I believe, his gold tooth unpainted, and Mudflap's license plate said "Trax" instead of his name.

I think HftD Starscream was originally supposed to have articulated hands.
