I say yes. The arms are a bit weird and clunky. Not to mention, they’re visible in jet mode. However, I’d argue that the figure is the best representation we’ve ever gotten of Starscream in the main line.

Even with hands sticking out the back. It has the best jet mode available. The transformation is fun and has moving gears in his torso. The bot mode is only ok.

Fantastic! I hope reprolabels will come out with decals for the whole team as it truly completes the look! Great job man!

Thanks everyone, glad you like it! Yep, I painted it all by hand. Tamiya masking tape and a tiny brush were very important for this project in particular xD

I hadn't really thought doing commissions, but that could be cool! I don't think its something I could do right now but in the future that could be a possibility!

Totally agree on the reprolabels, they'd make a fortune on the kits for the wreckers! (Still really hoping they do a kit for DOTM Prime, I need some flames!)

I'd also say yes for 2 reasons:

    1. There's always something cool about collecting the retired main line stuff and with so many improved versions, they're cheap too. I personally find at times that the older mainline stuff has good plastic too. For instance, I no longer collect past mainline figures for the most part but still collecting the 4 rotf constructicons. They may be outdated and I'm already invested in the SS Devy but I always wanted them as a kid. So far I've gotten the red RD-21 rampage, thanks to my boy Sideswipe29 and will soon look for the takara white demolishor. Sometimes the nostalgic factor of these figures beats the superior design of newer figures or 3rd-party designs.

    2. I think this starscream has a sleeker jet mode so if that's important to you then it's a really good pickup. While I love my leader starscream and like the look of the mpm as well, the smaller versions lend itself to sleeker jet modes. This with a gundam stand or some other stand will look great.

I have a couple of them, and they're pretty great. Some have some weird design choices, but overall, quality is top notch and paint matches perfectly. I have a few on pre-order now, in fact.

The Grimlock one in particular is pretty cool. The only negative I'd give it is that the weapons attach weirdly to the hands.

It's not bad. It has a good jet mode, and an interesting transformation. I ended up selling mine when the leader was released, though.

His wrist rocket launchers were originally supposed to retract into his arm, but that was cut for budget reasons, I think.

Can anyone show me what part of SS Roadbuster’s leg tabs I’m supposed to shave down? I took a little bit off the top, but it’s still not going in.

I didn't even know that was an issue. Mine tabs in perfectly fine without any mods.

Ditched the metallic head and opted for grey and added some subtle gray-dients. Wow looking forward to someday getting the MPM but for now this will do! IMG_20200802_131755350_HDR~2.jpg IMG_20200802_131954444_HDR~2.jpg IMG_20200802_130801072_HDR~2.jpg

On his right leg (if you're looking directly at the front of the car then the right side) the tab has a little circle shaped protrusion of extra plastic on the side. This makes the tab too thick and needs to be shaved or filed down. If you find you cut off too much and the tab goes in all the way now but it's loose fitting, I'd put abit of superglue around the peg and repeatedly tab it in and out until it dries and is a tight fit.

Woahhh! Do you do commissions to have it painted just like yours?

I agree with this as I have a good amount of figures from older toylines. 07 Salvage, 07 Landmine, Rotf Gears, Nest Mindwipe, HFTD Seaspray and Highbrow. I'm amazed by how well these figures still hold up to the newer lines like SS. I honestly feel like the older lines were underappreciated because so many figures were ahead of their time.

Mindwipe and Seaspray are two of my favourite figures still. And conveniently, they both scale with the SS line.
