I actually really liked that character. The actor was decent and the character had an interesting backstory. In my opinion, she should have been the main character instead of Cade "my daughter is my property" Yaegar for a second film, especially since his character arc was already done by the end of AOE.

Urgh, at least there were some interesting ideas and some fun toys from that movie. Wouldn't mind seeing them explored to better effect in future Transformers media.

I got a couple questions about SS Ironhide. First off, does anyone know what this little peg hole in his chest is for? Looking at the cgi, it looks like his license plate goes there, but it's just a hole on the figure for some reason

    70311.png

And, how important are these two pegs? I think the front tab is the the one tab holding the entire torso in place in bot mode. So I don't think I should cut it, but I'm still tempted to because it bugs me so much in truck mode. And I know the one in the center is just for aesthetic purposes in bot mode, but I really don't like it sticking down in alt mode, I've been swinging back and forth on whether to cut it off or not

    70306.png

I try to do little cuts and improvements on almost any figure I can, but I'm wary to alter anything on this figure considering how much a new SS Ironhide goes for these days. I'd be worried of messing it up permanently somehow and not being able to afford a new one

Through out my years of collecting Transformers this guy is the centerpiece and crowning achievement of my collection!
    IMG_20200622_213547.jpg IMG_20200622_213509.jpg

There is only one issue I've had with Mpm Prime since the year I've had this figure and this was only a new problem, IMG_20200622_214719.jpg

Clear plastic + transformation hinge + slight tumble off a shelf= Battle Damage

Do you think there's any way this damage can be reversed?
    IMG_20200622_220013.jpg IMG_20200622_214736.jpg

The piece has still has a bit of the hinge still attached so it still sorta sticks, it can stay on slightly even if shaked a bit but it definitely won't stay on during a transformation IMG_20200622_220035.jpg

    Any suggestions?

That peg hole in the first picture is used in altmode, that’s why it’s there.

Now regarding the other tabs, the one right under the bumper should not be cut off. Thats needed and tabs into the waist.

as for the last tab. (The one right under the door) that’s the piece that covers the middle of the bumper in robot mode.

I guess you don’t need that one, it’s not that important.

    hope this answers your question.

Not sure about the peg hole is for, but the other two tabs are definitely important.

As you said, the first one does lock the torso in place. 20200622_170359.jpg
The second one also tabs into the inner torso

Awe man, that sucks!! Do you the small peices that broke off?

On a side note, welcome to the forum!!

May be you can fatten the hinge with one of those superglues and after it dried (some types have insta dry spreys) you can work a hole with a needle to recreate the hinge.

When collecting I have a bad habit with figures having really bad QC issues, I've already mentioned Mpm Optimus but 3 other figures I have on hand are even worse,
    IMG_20200622_221303.jpg IMG_20200622_221254.jpg IMG_20200622_221246.jpg IMG_20200622_221250.jpg
The first Studio Series Optimus-Peg snapped off one of his energon swords, head peg snapped off and the shoulder joint got stuck behind itself so it had to be cut and filed down so it could be put back in alignment.

Age of Extinction Evasion Mode Optimus Prime- Middle torso section snapped off during transformation.

Last Knight Hot Rod- came with 2 of the exact same lower legs so the transformation can't be done correctly as the tab can't fit in.

Possibly, but I'm not a customiser or modder, hopefully that idea might work.

    Thank you for the suggestion.

I do have the piece of Optimus's window, someone has suggested a way of fixing it but I'm unexperienced at fixing action figures, the only fixing I've ever done if you can even call it that is blue tack broken pieces as I usually don't have enough time or patience to fix them properly, but I should start repairing them at some point.

I would say maybe trying gluing everything together with this.. 20181111_195116-1.jpg
I use this glue for different things and it's worked wonders.

If you you don't mind Prime not transforming anymore, then just glue all the pieces together, and hold everything in place till it dries.

Otherwise, I'd recommend gluing one end at the time and hold that end piece in place while swiveling the door. That way, only the plastic dries solid, and then repeat the process with the other broken end. Hopefully that'll get him fixed up.

Looking back at all of our past Fan First Fridays, what would be the chances of this Friday's to have Studio Series? Because lately, I've only heard most merch revealed were all exclusives. Not really much on normal waves.

Yeah I pretty much got him solely for the Ghidorah silhouette he casts on my shelf, and he was also a cheap thing I found at Ross in December 2018. :lol  if it wasn’t for the Ghidorah thing I probably never would’ve gotten him. If this guy had an accurate paint job as good as SS Grimlock then I’d actually more than like him.

I've got a junker evasion Optimus I can give you. I was gonna use it for a custom but gave up on it and it's been sitting inside my custom bin for months

I’ve only been tuning into the Star Wars FFF’s, so I can only speak on that, but from what I’ve seen most of what’s revealed isn’t exclusive. There’s been a fair amount of new reveals and rereleases, which is typical with a line like Star Wars. If anything I can see a full reveal of the Earthrise prototype figures we saw a few weeks back (Cyclonus, Soundwave). I don’t think Studio Series will be the main focus, but I can see maybe a couple teases for the recent rumors, seeing as how the first waves of the new year have been revealed during the prior summer. Even more likely it’d be a FFF now that most summer conventions aren’t happening.

I know you're a fan of customs and painting and whatnot ....I gave these guys a full make over when I got them way back when. I just wanted something that matched a little bit more of their onscreen presence. Thanks for reminding me, I'm due for taking them down off the shelf and fiddlin' with them.

    Alright, here they are -

From that pack I got Thundercracker and Protoform . . . Bumblebee!

Protoform Bee is really just Protoform Starscream with a yellow/orange tint, but it's one I don't have so that's good.

Thundercracker is kinda weird - the jet mode is great, but the robot mode tried to map the G1 model onto movie Starscream's pieces and the result is. . . something.
