ohnotheydidnt: Nick orders live action movie adaptation of Fairly Oddparents

    As the website says, "ohnotheydidnt".

Knowing the series - or at least when it was good, that time ended about 2004 or 2005 - this really makes me say WTF. Apparently it takes place sometime later after the series, when Timmy's at least 17 or so, but STILL in the fifth grade. He's gotta pick between trying to have a relationship with Tootie - who grew up and became beautiful - or staying a kid with Cosmos and Wanda.

If this was already posted, mods tag and bag this thread.

But if this film gets a theatrical release, it's so gonna be a box office bomb.

I have no faith after how well the last attempt at making a live action Nick series went. They'll probably call him Jimmy and Timmy Neutron will make a guest appearance. Seriously a 17 year old dressed in pink.......

Y'know. When I saw the title of the thread I was like "Heh, what toon are they gonna try? The Fairly Odd Parents?"

    I died a little inside.

The cartoon itself is totally hilarious. Still is. Don't soil it with a live-action movie. Did the response from The Last Airbender teach them nothing?

You're kidding right? I'm glad this is just a TV-movie... And WHY is he still in 5th grade?

It's bad enough that they are even considering this, but to have Timmy played... by Drake Bell!? Doesn't exactly scream 'Timmy' to me (especially since he's missing the most recognizable part about Timmy).

I can see this being about as good as the Ben 10 live action movies.

And no, that isn't a compliment.

EDIT: Oh, and according to the article, Timmy's 23. I honestly think I will watch this.

In the same way as someone watches "The Room" :lol .

If this was just a direct to home cartoon movie, it might be cool. But as a live action film, they clearly ran out of ideas.

I think a live action Invader Zim movie would probably do better then a FOP movie would.

Fuck that. I loved that show. It was funny because it was a cartoon. What the hell kind of sense does it make to make it live-action?

EDIT: Fuck me. They made him 23. And still in the fifth grade.

Points for originality and not just pointlessly retreading the original premise.

Wow. Even if they changed the plot a little bit, making him 23 trying to act like a kid, I have absolutely no hope for this movie. Although I'll be happy if it turns out good.

What are the execs at Nick smoking? Whatever it is, it's strong enough to make them think this was a good idea.

find who ever it was who wrote this script, the one who pitched it to Nick and the brain dead fart(s) who gave it the thumbs up and slap some sense into them all.
