WATCH: Live-Action Blade of the Immortal Trailer Pits One Samurai Against 300 This is something new from Takashi Mike. WB is doing a lot of live-action animes nowadays. They're doing Full-Metal Alchemist, Gintama, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and now this.
They got rid of the sauvastika? I don't know how I feel about that. I guess there are people ignorant to it's origin. Oh well.
Kimura is not the greatest actor in the world, either. He was in the Yamato movie, too. He was part of a teen idol group, and after he quit that, he's had a hard time getting his career started in other things. People here in Japan don't have such a high opinion of him. The consensus seems to be that he's not so great as an actor and that he was probably foolish to quit his group. Ironically, it's called a manji, which is the character's name. So yeah, it's weird not to have it. Whatever. Trailer doesn't look so great anyway.
Probably a good idea to play it safe and not have the manji on his back, even if the symbol does go in the opposite direction of the swastika. Anyway, yeah, this movie doesn't look at that great.
Didn't know about this, and now I'm quite excited. Looking at the character roster in the poster that's a lot of story to get through in a two hour movie, surprised they didn't just center on the Itto-ryu who Spoiler killed Rin's parents but it looks like Shira's one of the big bads and Makie, Mugai-ryu are in there too. Magatsu looks to just be a background character which is disappointing seeing as he's always been the fan favourite.
