This isn't the first time Hasbro's done exclusively pre-movie-release figures. Protoform 'Preview' dexlues of Prime and Starscream, then with ROTF you had Preview Soundwave (which when the figure first leaked everybody called bullshit and that it was some random thing from cobbled together Bionicle pieces. Ah, memories...) and Cannon Bumblebee.

Sure, they made a ton of money...almost a decade ago. Where is that money now? Oh, right, completely lost because TLK. Just because something was big in the past doesn't mean it is going to be as much of a hot ticket now.

Plus, the biggest clue that Hasbro really doesn't care all that much about the bayverse these days is the fact The Fallen hasn't even appeared in confirmed leaks whatsoever. Literally the main bad guy of the second film and they aren't touching him.

I'm speaking about them in relation to the second movie. We know that the Cybertron scenes with those designs in the first movie were super-late additions which means there wasn't a chance in hell Hasbro was going to get toys of those out on time since rule of thumb states the rough estimate of a toy going from concept to mass-production ready is a year.

Plus, Hasbro and Paramount putzed around the question of reboot or prequel, before finally officially declaring BB a reboot in fancy industry speak, so they wouldn't have committed to making the designs until later.

The final check digit should be an 8. The rest are correct though.

I had an amusing image of DOTM 'Devcon's grave having a picture of the G1 character because that was how much of a non-character he was. :lolol

With Perceptor and Junkyard anything becomes possible. Even a Sharkticon pack. Would be a quick buck to have like 3 in a pack for a descent price. And a long awaited Blaster. Who is always sidelined for Soundwave, not that I complain because Soundwave is my favorite transformer, just that blaster deserves some love.

As far as deconfirmed goes, anything that can make Hasbro money they do. It is why they now spit out a dedicated Sweep as well, instead of people having to rely solely on Scourge. And what about a Cyclonus "Armada" repaint. Or a new set of Insecticons, 86 is very popular as far as I can tell.

Yep. The Bayformers cost Hasbro so much money that *checks notes* they unexpectedly created a toy line that consisted of nothing but characters from that same universe for nearly three years. Also, it is disappointing that Hasbro hasn't done the Fallen yet (I'm mostly chalking it up to the fact that he didn't have a vehicle mode, but then again, they did DOTM Shockwave), but it's hardly indicative that Hasbro has suddenly lost interest or doesn't care anymore.

    Good points.

G1 has been over for three decades and ended on arguably a less savory note than TLK.

I don't think those two things are exactly comparable.

Also that latter point is just false.

Can we not get into this tribal nonsense again?

Thrilled that we’ll be getting a proper G1 Perceptor without it being dragged down by a gimmick it should never have had.

The BB Movie figures aren’t something I have any intention of buying but I am interested to see how they handle alt modes as the movie models clearly didn’t have them.

Which of those companies are doing that Bumblebee movie Megatron design? I imagine they’ll want to do that one before potentially moving on since it’s Megatron.

Definitely getting Ratchet *cough* no one is surprised *cough*

If he’s really good I’ll get a few copies.

Maybe Perceptor, though I never noticed the hate for the TR one before. I have the TR and Legends ones and I think he’s great.

Yolopark I believe, but it seems the design is still being kept under wraps.

Sad that Perceptor will be a deluxe again. He really should be a voyager class figure.

Because a majority of those early figures were from the original three films and not AoE or TLK. And arguably they really were overhyped (seriously, SS Brawl is an embarrassment, at what point in the film does he have a tank barrel shoved up his ass like the SS figure suggests? Even the original deluxe wasn't that inaccurate with the weapon) since the original figures are still just as good as they were back in 2007 when brand new.

Furthermore, they were just used to launch SS as the movie version of Generations, as it served in additional capacity as the Bumblebee movie toyline, then with the 86 subline, and now back to the Bumblebee movie almost full time.

It ended with the resurrection of Optimus Prime and the defeat of the Hate Plague.

That's pretty decent compared to TLK managing to lose money after a $650 million box office intake because it simply had been too expensive to make.

That’s what I’m curious about. Maybe he’ll be a tall deluxe.
