Um he should still be compatible and yes he turns into a cassette but like Eject I assume the caveat of having a better bot mode is a slightly worse cassette mode.

 

It's not assuming that. There'd be the base and the pistons. Hasbro doesn't do spring-loaded parts any more for Generations. I don't see them being any more complicated than that.

 

Eh, is not like the other WFC Cassettes were particularly good at those modes.

Look, I'm holding this to Hasbro, period. They need to get their act together when it comes to human-sized TFs. I'm not looking for reasons to try settling for what they give us, I'm trying to get them to raise the bar. Acting within reason is fine, but something here needs to be pushed.

 

Even in the cartoons he's perfect for Titan class, especially in Energon.

And for combined mode, he'd either have to be light as shit or Megatron better have some UT level ratchets to be able to hold the wait of his half-assed "combined mode" that would only hinder both figures than improve either at all.

Come to think of it, is it farfetched to believe that if Rumble is getting a redo, could the Netflix Soundwave (assuming he is Legacy Soundwave) get a half-redo a la Coronation Starscream? I think I can picture Soundwave having a slightly bigger upper chest so he can actually fit his cassette guys. Last I checked, Siege Soundwave could really fit his cassette buddies due to them being to big or something.

(Though if a slightly new Soundwave is coming, can we expect an Earth mode Soundblaster shortly afterwards? I've been hemming and hawing about nabbing the Mercenary one from the Selects line...)

 

I've had 3 iterations of WFC Soundwave (Siege, 35th Soundblaster and Netflix) and all 3 of them could fit the tapes in their chest.

I could've sworn there was some whining about how not all of his tapes could fit into his chest, so I did some quick digging and turns out I was half-right. The main problem was the WFC Rumble/Frenzy mold is too large to fit inside his chest. Like, they could in theory, but it's an extremely tight fit apparently.

So hey, if this SS86 Rumble (and Frenzy?) ends up happening after all, here's hoping he can fit into Legacy Soundwave without issue.

 

Like I said, Rumble and Frenzy fit in the ones I have. The tape door doesn't fly open with them in it, but they fit just fine and the door opens and closes. I might have gotten lucky, I might just be less critical than others.

 

Elita-1 will take a lot for me to buy that character again. Netflix was such a pain.
