I don't think it is a video game Megatron. Maybe it is just Netflix megatron to look more like the 86 movie version. My guess.

The nice thing about Devastation is that there's really only six or so figures we need that substantially differ from G1 but they can compliment what we have.

That one went over my head.

    *********

I won’t complain if the SS line dips into the games... but I do find it... odd?
I fully understood and embraced SS 86 because of the animated theatrical film. Because theatrical.

So SS is now open to mine any season of any of the shows- which AFAIK is neither good nor bad.

It does make me wonder what the point of the other non-SS (like Legacy) lines are for.

    Comic Studio Series too?

Personally I'm all for Studio Series branching out into other things and don't feel it should necessarily be limited to films alone. For quite awhile it was just more Bayverse and after 15+ years I can say I've had my fill and would like for Hasbro and Takara to give it a rest, if it weren't for the 86 subline or the figures based on the Bumblebee film I probably would've just tuned it out entirely. :lolol

Besides they're kind of reaching the end of the rope in regards to what's left to do in regards to the Bay era of films anyways, so it'd make sense if they wish to delve into other areas of the franchise.

Well, that's true. Sideways has his gun from the ROTF game, and the word is that we'll be seeing characters that only ever appeared in concept art or the video games (like Breakaway and Warpath).

The other word is that we seem to be getting SS entries of characters from the War for Cybertron video games, but that's speculation at the moment. (For all we know, it might just be from the WFC Netflix cartoon.)

I don't see that happening since Legacy is doing some comic stuff. The team expressed last year that it's possible that SS will branch out to show stuff as well.

This works cause High Moon Studios (logic)
    Yup that is the rumor.

There's also listings for "WFC" Bumblebee and Barricade. Both were in the High Moon Studios games, and if this were, say, a "Netflix" Barricade, it'd merely be a reissue of the Siege Barricade that already came out at regular retail. That guy got like two lines, so it'd be an odd choice.

What confuses me about this is returning to the game aesthetic in this way. I look at the current Hasbro styling that started with the Siege line as being GeeWunified versions of the Cybertron-based games. We just had a "Cybertron" Megatron tank and Origins Bumblebee.

If they come out with something really distinctive that makes their customers happy, I'm all for it. I think I'd like to see if they revisited some more TFAnimated ideas for Megatron. Or to see this Armada one in Legacy.

Brawl isn’t skinny at all. You could argue his elbows are lanky looking but everything else is chunk and bulk. Even if Brawl was skinny tho, that reasoning still doesn’t work. Ironhide was bulky and he worked fine as a voyager. Megatron is more often than not a tank voyager and he’s bulky as hell. Warpath would be just fine as a voyager. No need to make such an easy design more expensive than it has to be.

    IMG_0897.png

Love how he’s basically just the front half of a tank with arms and legs sprouting from the bottom. It’s perfection.

tbh they're less so running out of characters but moreso those characters just aren't very profitable except the obvious ones. i just wish well still get atleast 1 or 2 bay figures a year

I'm for SS branching out for sure but also we still have a fair bit we can do
    Main Character Wise:
    • TF1 Frenzy
    • ROTF Skids
    • ROTF Mudflap
    • ROTF Ice Cream Twins - like the normal versions they are back on the table but who knows if they will ever happen.
    • DOTM Que
    • AOE Evasion Prime
    • AOE Knight Prime
    • AOE High Octane Bee
    • AOE Modern Bee
    • AOE Car Drift
    • AOE Hound
    • AOE Crosshairs
    • AOE Scorn
    • AOE Strafe
    • AOE Slug
    • TLK Camaro Bee
    • TLK Hound
    • TLK Nemesis Prime
    • TLK Dragonstorm - maybe
    • TLK Infernocus - maybe
    • TLK Megatron
    • TLK Barricade
    • TLK Nitro Zeus
    • TLK Onslaught
    • TLK Mowhawk
    • TLK Dreadbot
BUT to your point we are kinda running out of those iconic named characters.

I love when people say that there’s not much left for the studio series to do with the Bayverse so that I can bring out this stupid big list of potential figures they could do (some of which will obviously never be made but it’s still fun to imagine):

    2007 film:

Core class Dispensor. Turns into the mountain dew vending machine.

Core class Frenzy. Turns into a boombox. Probably very kibbly in robot form due to budget constraints.

Deluxe class Scorponok. Turns into a platform of panels to help cover up the underside of SS Blackout. Smaller than average deluxe, meaning the majority of the budget can go to paint, articulation, and parts count. If there's still wiggle room left, he could even come with an accessory or two, such as a weapon for Blackout.

Deluxe class Rusty Bumblebee. A retool of the Clunker Bumblebee mold that gives it the enhanced engineering of the SS 2007 figure. Features a Mikaela Banes minifigure.

Deluxe class Autobot Protoform. A larger deluxe class figure, roughly the size of SS Ratchet, that turns into a transition form.

Voyager class Ratchet. A new mold that improves on the flaws of the previous figures. It is the same height as the previous releases, with the new budget being used for major engineering and paint improvements. Comes with his gun and a pair of his small arm mounted blasters.

Voyager class NBE-01. A retool of the previous SS 2007 Megatron figure. It is now designed to look frozen and comes with Megatron's larger two handed fusion cannon rather than his flail. The body has also been retooled to be more accurate.

Megatron vs Jazz. A two pack that comes with retooled versions of SS Megatron and Jazz. Megatron now features a screen accurate retooled chest and his smaller one handed fusion cannon, while Jazz now sports the ability to be easily split in half at the waist.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Revenge of the Fallen:

Core class ROTF Arcee. A retool of the previous SS Arcee with moderately improved paint and engineering. She comes with a stand that can now store on her bike form, as well as a large arm cannon. She is also capable of combining with her sisters.

Core class ROTF Chromia. A retool of the previous SS Chromia with moderately improved paint and engineering. She comes with a stand that can now store on her bike form, as well as a blade accessory. She also comes with a piece of removable armor and can combine with her sisters.

Core class ROTF Elita-1. A retool of the previous SS Elita-1 with moderately improved paint and engineering. She comes with a stand that can now store on her bike form and can combine with her sisters.

Core class Wheelie. Turns into an RC monster truck. Wouldn't mind if this was just a retool of his old ROTF legends class figure.

Core class Ravage. Turns into a transition form.

Core class Scalpel. Turns into a microscope.

Deluxe class Decepticon Protoform. A retool of the Autobot Protoform. Comes with a Cybertronian gun.

Voyager class Ice cream Skids and Mudflap. A two pack that allocates roughly 16 dollars of budget to each twin. Core class sized little guys with slightly better budgets. They of course combine to form the ice cream truck seen in the film.

Voyager class ROTF Skids and Mudflap. A two pack of the same nature as the last one that has the two turning into their respective Chevy Beat and Chevy Trax car forms.

Voyager class Battle Damaged Optimus Prime. A retool of the SS 2007 figure that gives him extensive battle damage detailing and his energon hooks.

Voyager class ROTF Soundwave. A completely new mold that is more accurate to Soundwave's appearance in ROTF. A massive satellite bot who turns into the 22 foot tall robot from the concept art. Comes with a pink Bumblebee/Laserbeak minifigure and maybe some tentacles because why not?

Voyager class Payload. A yellow repaint of Long Haul. Comes with a Reedman minifigure.

Deluxe class Buckethead. A new character based on the yellow bulldozer seen combining with Hightower. Turns into a more screen accurate left hand for Devastator and is based on the "Volvo Wheel Loader (Nurse)" concept art, similar to the Devil Savior Bomber figure.

Leader class Desert Bonecrusher. An upscaled repaint and retool of the previous SS Bonecrusher that now includes a desert camo paint job and two wrist blasters. Based on the massive Buffalo MPV Bot seen attacking Ironhide during Operation Firestorm.

Commander class Grindor. Upscaled version of the previous mold with improvements made to the paint and engineering. Comes with a rotor blade weapon, an Alice minifigure, and the grappling hook used to pick up Sam's getaway car. (It'll never happen but a guy can dream)

Titan class Demolishor. An all new mold loosely based on the smaller SS Scavenger figure. The engineering is more complex as a result of no longer having to combine with Devastator, granting the figure greater articulation and screen accuracy. He comes with a Scalpel minifigure and a battle damaged version of his head.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Dark of the Moon:

Core class Brains. Probably impossible but I'd buy it even if the laptop mode looked like crap.

Core class Steeljaw. Turns into a NASCAR engine that doubles as a large arm mounted blaster for Leadfoot.

Core class Laserbeak. Turns into a transition form.

Core class Covert Laserbeak. Turns into a TV. (Will probably never happen)

Core class Assassin Laserbeak. Turns into a printer. (Will probably never happen)

Core class Ambush Laserbeak. Turns into a CD player. (Will probably never happen)

Deluxe class Que. Heard we might be getting him in the coming waves so I hope he comes with plenty of accessories. Ironhide's upgraded guns would be cool additions.

Deluxe class DOTM Jolt. A repaint and slight retool that improves on the previous figure and gives him his updated DOTM color scheme from the comics. This release does not come with the electro whips.

Deluxe class Commando Crankcase. A repaint of the TLK Berserker figure. Comes with his guns from the Mexican Standoff rather than another pair of spikes.

Deluxe class Hatchet. Brand new mold. Comes with Crowbar's guns (which can be mounted on Hatchet's shoulders for added playability) so that the Highway Chase and the Mexican Standoff can both be completed.

Deluxe class DOTM Barricade. A retool of the previous figure that fixes the QC issues, has a Cybertronian gun, and a Frenzy minifigure.

Deluxe class Loader. A heavy retool of Ratchet based on Payload from Transformers: The Game. He turns into a Superfund security truck and comes with an arm mounted claw weapon. Figured it would be best to merge these two characters since the name Payload is already taken by a Constructicon of higher priority. That way the game character can potentially be made in the concept section down below.

Deluxe class Decepticon Enforcer. A protoform figure that turns into a Washington DC police car. Could be a retool of the Berserker mold and come with a Cybertronian gun.

Deluxe class Decepticon Bruiser. A protoform figure that turns into a Chevy pickup truck. Based on the Pickup Truck Con seen rampaging through Chicago. Comes with a Cybertronian gun.

Deluxe class Decepticon Pilot. A protoform figure that turns into the standard Orbital Assault Carrier. Comes with two guns.

Voyager class DOTM Ratchet. A repaint of the previous new voyager SS Ratchet, now in his green DOTM colors. He comes with his gun accessory and his circular saw accessory.

Voyager class Decepticon Bomber. A protoform figure that turns into the larger Orbital Assault Carrier model. Comes with two guns.

Voyager class Garbagebot. A heavy retool of Long Haul that turns into a garbage truck.

Voyager class Desert Brawl. A repaint of Brawl in desert camo colors. Based on the M1 Abrams Bots seen being killed by Optimus.

Voyager class DOTM Skids and Mudflap. A two pack that has the twins as their respective black and green/orange Chevy Spark car forms.

Voyager class Cybertronian Sentinel Prime. A heavy retool of his previous SS figure that turns into a Cybertronian fire truck and comes with his shield and rust cannon accessories.

Leader class DOTM Mixmaster. An upscaled and retooled version of the previous SS Mixmaster based on his appearance in the DOTM game (as well as his short lived appearance during ROTF’s final battle). He can no longer combine with Devastator, with the hidden face being replaced by his back turret. The articulation has also been improved so that he can properly fold up into his defensive shield position. This upscale would be about as tall as SS Sentinel Prime.

Leader class DOTM Long Haul. Like the Mixmaster idea, this would be a larger and more movie accurate Long Haul figure that abandons the combining feature in favor of better engineering. He would be as tall as Sentinel and Mixmaster, all three characters were around 30 feet tall in DOTM, and come with missile rack accessories for his arms.

Leader class Devcon. Been hearing all kinds of things about this potential figure. Not entirely sure if we'll ever actually get him or not. Sure hope we do though.

Leader class Decepticon Marauder. An upscaled retool of Hatchet that turns into a Cybertronian tank. Based on the massive quadruped Decepticons seen in the opening scene of the film. Comes with two shoulder mounted blasters and one back mounted cannon. This would easily qualify for commander class but I don't think anyone cares enough about them for that to actually happen. I'd definitely buy it though.

Titan class Driller. Turns into a fortress base mode for Shockwave to sit in (similar to the boss fight from the DOTM game). Could also come with accessories like generic Cybertronian guns for other Decepticons. They would be stored in a small armory section of the base mode.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Age of Extinction:

Core class Oreo Bot. Turns into the oreo vending machine.

Deluxe class AOE Drift. All new mold based on his Bugatti form. Comes with two swords.

Deluxe class Stealth Bumblebee. Retool of the previous SS Bee. Based on his initial appearance in AOE and comes with a Steeljaw minifigure. (Could probably rename them Cyber Wolves or something to avoid confusion with Leadfoot's Steeljaw)

Deluxe class AOE Bumblebee. Heavy retool of SS Stinger. Comes with four throwing star accessories.

Deluxe class Shadow Pilot. A retool of the Decepticon pilot that turns into Lockdown's modified Orbital Assault Carriers. Based on Lockdown's Shadow Raider crew. Comes with a Stupid Drone minifigure.

Deluxe class Red/Black/White KSI Sentries. A new mold that represents the KSI Sentries that actually appeared in the film. They of course turn into Chevy Traxes.

Voyager class AOE Crosshairs. A new mold that borrows and enhances transformation elements from the TLK Premier Edition figure. Budget goes to a more complex transformation, his parachutes, and his guns.

Voyager class Lockdown. A brand new mold that has a heavy emphasis on improved engineering. Could probably make good use of that inside out vehicle technique seen in SS Galvatron. The figure is roughly the same height as the first one, but now comes with his spark extractor and his face gun.

Voyager class Elite KSI Boss. A new and more accurate mold that has the correct head type. Shorter than the previous mold and still transforms into Nitro Zeus's Gripen jet.

Voyager class Two Head. A downscaled heavy retool of SS Shockwave that turns into a futuristic KSI Armored Personnel Carrier vaguely inspired by the M113 APC. (Really just a Cybertronian tank)

Voyager class Rusty Optimus Prime. Turns into the Marmon semi truck. Could probably get away with downscaling, repainting, and slightly retooling the original AOE voyager figure.

Leader class AOE Hound. A brand new mold that turns into an Oshkosh Defense FMTV. He comes with a triple barrel minigun, two shotguns, four pistols, a rifle, a knife, a removable helmet, and an AOE variant of the Brains minifigure.

Leader class AOE Optimus Prime. A brand new mold based on his final two appearances in AOE. The forearms can be changed to reflect both his pre knight form and his knight form. Comes with his larger gun, two energon wrist swords, the Sword of Judgement, and his shield. Complex transformation that is similar to SS Galvatron.

Leader class Junkheap. A three pack consisting of Junkheap's component robots who combine into a garbage truck. Parts count and complexity could be a potential issue on this one. Might need to make it a three pack with a unique price point or a commander class.

Leader class Strafe. Turns into a two headed pteranodon. Comes with more accurately scaled minifigures of Sharp T, 'Tops, and Pterry.

Leader class Slug. Turns into a spiky triceratops. One of his hands is a sword.

Leader class Scorn. Turns into a three sailed spinosaurus. Could probably get away with upscaling and retooling the TLK voyager figure since it was already a really good mold.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    The Last Knight:

Core class Sqweeks. Turns into a Vespa scooter. Comes with an enlarged arm and a gun arm.

Core class Mohawk. Turns into a Confederate P51 motorcycle.

Deluxe class Da Vinci Bot. A new mold based on the winged Da Vinci Bot concept art, as well as the wingless variant seen in the film. He comes with a cane and turns into a Leonardo Da Vinci style flying machine. He is a very small deluxe and comes with a wheelchair accessory (which could perhaps transform into something as well?).

Deluxe class ZB-7. A new and more accurate mold to replace the previous attempt at WWII Bumblebee. Turns into a Mercedes-Benz 770 and comes with two shotguns. The Offroad Bumblebee engineering might work for this mold.

Deluxe class TLK Bumblebee. A retool of the previous SS Bee. Comes with his war hammer. Limbs can be easily removed to replicate his self destruct ability.

Deluxe class ZB-8. A new and more accurate mold to replace the previous attempt at WWII Hot Rod. Turns into a Steyr-Daimler-Puch Type 1500A and comes with two machine guns. The Offroad Bumblebee engineering might work for this mold.

Deluxe class Undercover Hot Rod. A retool of the SS Hot Rod figure based on his Citroën DS form. Comes with a Vivienne Wimbley minifigure.

Deluxe class TLK Drift. A retool of the previous Drift figure. Turns into a Mercedes-AMG GTR. Comes with a single sword and a minifigure of Sqweeks with an enlarged arm.

Deluxe class Trench. A new mold that reuses parts from the previous Scrapper and Scrapmetal figures to be as screen accurate as possible. I wouldn't expect much from this release.

Deluxe class Volleybot. A retool of SS Topspin. Has Leadfoot's head and trades the arm claws for a volleyball and a Cuban Simmons figure.

Deluxe class TLK Barricade. A new mold that comes with an arm mounted gattling gun, baton, and pistol. Greatly improved engineering compared to the first attempt.

Deluxe class Dreadbot. A heavy retool of Crowbar that excludes the tendrils. Turns into a Volkswagen Type 2 and comes with a gun.

Deluxe class Lieutenant. A new mold that turns into a Supermarine Spitfire. Comes with a gun.

Deluxe class Talisman Knight. A new mold based on the green knight that gives Cade the talisman, which is one of his accessories. The figure takes loose inspiration from the TLK Steelbane figure, turning into a wingless dragon.

Voyager class TLK Crosshairs. A retool of the previous figure that updates the vehicle form. Comes with a Cogman minifigure, two guns, and concept weapons such as his arm blade.

Voyager class Bulldog. A new mold that turns into a Mark IV Tank. Has removable pieces to replicate his tendency to fall apart.

Voyager class Skyfire. A new mold based on the mysterious WWII plane bot seen in TLK’s promotional material. Not really sure what kind of aircraft he’d be, but I’d say his scale would be similar to that of Optimus and Sentinel based on the group shot of him and the soldiers.

Voyager class Daytrader. A downscaled heavy retool of Hound. Comes with a Vatti Bot minifigure and a battle damaged version of Starscream's head.

Voyager class Nitro Zeus. A retool of the previous SS KSI Boss idea. Has a screen accurate head now.

Voyager class Onslaught. A new mold that reuses parts from the SS Long Haul figure. Comes with his decapitator claw and arm cannon.

Voyager class TLK Megatron. New mold that comes with his axe sword and a now removable arm cannon.

Voyager class Infernocons. Six similar new molds that combine to form Infernocus. They come with various spear and glave accessories. Names could be Skulk, Rupture, Thrash, Riot, Glug, and Gorge. They would lack alternate forms and instead only turn into components of Infernocus. Given the nature of the 15th Anniversary Autobot 5 pack, I don't think a six pack of Infernocons as a standard method of release would be too far fetched of an idea. Dividing it into two three packs would probably be better, however.

Voyager class Guardian Knights. Twelve similar new molds that combine to form Dragonstorm. They come with various sword, mace, glave, axe, and spear accessories. Names could include Stormreign, Dragonicus, Steelbane, Dagger, Harbinger, Siege, Brigade, Glave, Lance, Commodore, Artisan, and even Skullitron since he technically only fell down a hole and could've been part of the combinations in the film. All of them would lack alternate modes and instead only turn into components of Dragonstorm to improve stability and quality control. This one is a huge stretch, but I would love to see if Hasbro could actually pull off a combiner like this. Similar to the Infernocons, four 3 packs would probably be the best way to distribute these.

Leader class Canopy. An extremely heavy retool and repaint of Long Haul with a huge rubble shield and more complex transformation. He also comes with a Sqweeks minifigure that has both of his normal arms.

Leader class TLK Hound. A brand new mold that turns into an Mercedes-Benz Unimog Military Ambulance. He comes with a triple barrel minigun, two shotguns, four pistols, a rifle, a knife, a removable helmet, and a Sqweeks minifigure with a gun arm.

Leader class Nemesis Prime. A retool of the previous AOE figure idea. Comes with an alternate Nemesis Prime headsculpt, the smaller gun, the wrist blade, Quintessa's staff, the sword of Judgement, and the shield.

Titan class HMS Alliance. A new mold based on the HMS Alliance's robot mode concept art. Could potentially be named Seaspray or have an entirely original name like Overboard. Could come with several minifigures such as Cade, Vivienne, Cogman, and Burton.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Bumblebee:

Deluxe class White/Orange/Yellow/Green/Blue Autobot Troopers. Retools of the Ironhide/Ratchet mold based on the generic Autobot soldiers in the opening sequence. Could be released as three two packs.

Deluxe class Offroad Shatter. A new mold that improves on the mistakes made with the previous figure.

Deluxe class Cybertronian Shatter. A Cybertronian retool of Offroad Shatter. Comes with a gun.

Deluxe class Offroad Dropkick. A new and more accurate mold that borrows the more advanced transformation scheme of the SS 2007 Bumblebee figure. Fixes the QC issues and inaccurate proportions of the original car Dropkick figure. Comes with his gun.

Deluxe class Aerial Dropkick. An all new mold that is far more accurate to both the robot and helicopter forms seen in the film. Has actual faux car kibble now. Comes with his gun.

Deluxe class Cybertronian Dropkick. A Cybertronian retool of Offroad Dropkick. Comes with a wrist sword.

Deluxe class Cybertronian Cliffjumper. A new mold with improved engineering. The Offroad Bee transformation didn't really work for this guy. Comes with a black version of Arcee's pistol.

Deluxe class B-127. A retool of the Cybertronian Cliffjumper figure. Has more accurate paint applications instead of coming with his plasma cannon. Has the normal head variant instead of the battle mask variant.

Deluxe class 2018 Volkswagen Bumblebee. A new mold that improves on the flaws of the original. Comes with his plasma cannon and wrist blade. The Offroad Bumblebee engineering might work for this figure.

Deluxe class 2018 Camaro Bumblebee. A heavy retool of the previous Volkswagen Bumblebee idea. Comes with a more angular wrist blade for the Offroad Bumblebee figure.

Voyager class Cybertronian Optimus Prime. A Cybertronian retool of the previous SS 2018 Optimus Prime figure. Comes with an energon axe since we already have his gun.

Voyager class 2018 Shockwave. A new mold with a similar tank form to his core class figure. Not sure if the cannon should be removable or not.

Voyager class Cybertronian Blitzwing. A repaint of the Thundercracker figure. Comes with the standard issue Seeker hand blaster (albeit with improved pegs so that the hands can hold it better).

Voyager class Skywarp. We all know it's coming soon. Just figured I'd mention it anyways.

Voyager class Seekers. The remaining four Seeker color variations all have toy potential. The red one can be Red Wing, the light blue/yellow one can be Dirge, the dark green/yellow one can be Skyquake, and the reddish orange one can be Sandstorm or Hooligan.

    Minifigure multipacks:

Core class Allspark Mutations Multipack #1. Consists of minifigures for Nokia Bot, Steering Wheel Bot, Xbox 360 Bot, Dickbot the Blender Guy (Blender), Waffle Iron Bot (Waffler), and Cappuccino Bot (Boiler).

Core class Allspark Mutations Multipack #2. Consists of minifigures for the rest of the Appliancebots: Microwave Bot (Heater), Vacuum Bot (Cleaner), WiFi Router Bot (Router), Stand Mixer Bot (Mixer), Garbage Disposal Bot (Chomper), and Ejector.

Core class Minicon Madness Multipack. Consists of minifigures for Reedman, Frenzy's spider/head form, an Insecticon, Watch Bot, a Microcon, and the Watch that killed Hitler.

I doubt Hasbro will ever do minifigure multipacks with characters like these, but I figured the idea was fun enough to put down.

I posted it somewhere else awhile ago. So whenever I need it I just hit the good old copy and paste. Gotta make sure it’s updated tho. We’ve gotten quite a few toy reveals as of recently.
