Yeah that’s fair. I can only see disappointment coming down that road, though. I also can only see one reuse of a commander. Maybe two at the most but the only reused commander thus far has been Jetfire in SG. And if they do a G2 Motormaster at the most I can see us getting TC or OP. Not both. That’s why TC oughta be his own thing.

But if the alternate cab tooling is a thing, it'll be fantastic. The base mode is already so close.
If it's just a repainted Motormaster, then I would concede it's not fantastic. Or even good.

 

Is he still part of the earlier mentioned Capsule line? That is, does the fact that G2 Grimlcok is a Wal-mart exclusive imply the whole capsule is, as well?

 

They're not gonna have completely different tooling for the entire figure just to reuse a combiner frame trailer that has a mode that vaguely looks similar in battle station mode (and even then just in being a central turret it's not that similar)

Listen if they’re able to retool it to a point of near unrecognizability a la Metalhawk from Cyclonus it could be good. I just can’t see them going that far.

I loved the Velocitron line, and the selection it has given us, but I hate that Walmart is what it is attached to.

 

You know, a reissue I'd like to see is MW Optimus Prime with a retooled head sculpt. That is one of my favorite figures from the late G1 era.

Otherwise, turning Selects over to MW doesn't really excite me. I mean, I really liked MW and was disappointed as hell that the second wave never happened. But considering it'll be recolors and retools of stuff we've already seen or heard of? Skeptical at best. They would be better off doing some of the Euro G1 guys as mainline releases and using those for Selects retools.

I have scored most of what I want, but I’m still on pins and needles waiting for the toy colors hot rod. After scourge it was the figure I wanted most and it’s stuck in limbo

 

I’ve had a theory now that this years Walmart subline will based around a Tournement for rulership of the Beast Planet. And I speculated that G2 Grimlock would be a part of it. I also have to wonder if we won’t see Universe Primal, Antagony, Pathfinder, Fractyl/Laserbeak, and Cryotek in the line.


You have the full line up(without names)right? I was curious how many deluxes, leaders, and voyagers will be a part of it.

Man, I'm still waiting on Machine Wars Soundwave from Doubledealer and Primal Prime with Ape-Linq from Power of the Primes Optimal Optimus  

 

After seeing how quickly Cosmos sold out on it even for other Premium members, and how quickly other exclusives have sold out in it (see GI Joe Serpentor and Mindbender that sold out around 10 minutes yesterday), I'm not certain it's worth it to me for 1 or 2 exclusives a year.
