What would the repainted Countdown look like for Sentinel?

 

My guess is that HasTak wanted us to recope on paychecks after pre-ordering a good amount of Evo Wave 2 this week.

 

If this is true, we’re like 1 month away from a reveal. Unless someone wants to do a digibash, I guess this thread will be mildly dormant for a few weeks.

 

Either a blue deco or a more toy accurate deco than the Siege

 

Yeah I think I’m just going to monitor preorders, that’s usually a good indicator long term. As a character this was in one episode and was a drone so I can’t imagine and like legacy long term love for most people

 

I can't remember if Zarak's POs sold out during the initial offering. Because at the time the speculation was he'd be made to order.

 

How'd he wind up discounted so often then?

 

Because he came back in stock a handful of times and a number of etailers also may have over ordered. He must have been produced in Ark like numbers.

 

It never sold out, I remember being actually surprised he didn’t. He was always available. Never heard about the made to order speculation

 

Is Machine Wars confirmed? not interesting to me, those decos are so dull

 

Buying/Preordering this sentinel on sight, not waiting for sales because I feel like the troop building, novelty, and G1 nostalgia will make this one go quick. YMMV

I'm planning on grabbing one at retail price and one of a moderately good sale.

 

Only mold that properly works as a MW update is the new Skyquake. Let’s see the others:
Soundwave - ER Doubledealer (or potentially TR Hardhead but less likely):
I doubt they’d do two leaders in a subline. It could be two waves but then if it’s pulse I’d guess it’d be more likely to be like SG with like one wave a year with spread out releases. Ig we’ll see. It also isn’t that good a mold imo n would do a disservice to how cool Stalker n Soundwave are.

Optimus - Motormaster?:
This would seriously suck but it’s the only one you could get a decent retool from. It’d also mean either we wouldn’t get a Thunderclash or we would be no one in hell we’re getting two commander MW Optimus Prime’s so we’d be left with an inaccurate one. Also would probably mean we won’t see G2 Motormaster.

Sandstorm - Selects Rotorstorm:
It’d be decent. Inaccurate as Rotorstorm but it’d still be cool to see. I think this would work the most so far.

Prowl/ Mirage: Kingdom Mirage:
This would suck too cause it’s like oh yay another Mirage from Mirage. They should make a core (or at least small deluxe) Skid-Z and then give us these two.

Hubcap/ Hoist: yeah idek who you could do for this. Maybe ER Trailbreaker? Scraphook? Idk whoever you go with will be a bad option imo.

Thundercracker/ Skywarp/ Megatron/ Megaplex: the only jets you’d have are the too big voyagers or Needlenose who doesn’t even share the same layout n has better retool options. I’d honestly rather the four jets all share a new, unique, core (or small deluxe) mold than be retooled by any of the current jets. The best current one would be Armada Starscream but like it’d still suck because 1. Too big and 2. I’d rather get Ramjet n other seekers from that mold.

 

Unless by some miracle it’s a Metroplex rerelease not interested.

 

SG Grimlock is not in selects. And is looking like a pulse exclusive.

2023 Selects have no leader class figures in it.

Leader G2 Grimlock is a Walmart exclusive.

 

If there is actually a SG3 wave, they won't have any comic pack-ins right? There's no new comics to include. Logically that would mean the third wave figures should be cheaper. If they actually are though, is another story.

 

I believe we can yet see a fantastic retool of Motormaster as Thunderclash and/or Machine Wars Prime - Thunderclash could be Selects or a store exclusive, with the Prime going to mainline. With talk of Predators and Machine Wars, it seems more than likely Turbomasters are probably on the minds of the brand team.

 

Does it look like SG Grimlock is a one off? Or is there a possibility of another batch of SG figs?

 

No we won’t see a fantastic retool. Good maybe, but fantastic? You’re dreaming. It’ll be Motormaster in TC/OP cosplay. Thunderclash oughta be his own thing.
