I'm used to that style of face since I grew up with the Bayverse. They're mostly fine IMO.

There technically are in the fact that they are G1 designs but movie-ified with more complexity and more real-world alt modes. Also unlike the Bayverse they look like their G1 selves and aren't completely different like pretty much all the Bayverse designs.

I get why the faces don't work for everyone but I think with the style they are going for with a movie look it works. The faces I think are more BBM than Bayverse.

I'd be so down for them to go on my BBM/ROTB shelf. Cause they are perfect for that.

What's funny is (if you count a squid) we've got all three of those in one form of another.

Star Upper in manga, Jawbreaker in the OG toyline, and Claw Jaw...also in the OG line.

If Leo Prime does well there's a while world of animals in BWNeo and BWII they could explore.

The original basis would be the toys. Not the sunbow toon.

Because the toys were the basis for said cartoon.

There's been plenty of toy focus on the original toy designs and their details for years. Generations had a ton of that, especially on the Hasbro side. If people want toy designs, the original toys with those designs came out decades ago. The cartoon gave many of these characters their defining characteristics and personalities. The cartoon had a wider reach. Not everyone had all of Soundwave and his tapes because it cost money to have them all that not everyone had (same with the comics), but they sure knew Rumble and Frenzy because of the cartoon. Their voices exist in our heads because of it. And the cartoon aired on tv, which more families than not had in their homes back then, thefore the cartoon had the highest expose possible.

I'd also love to see the Cybertron Jungle Planet characters redone in proper Beast Wars fashion.

They're very "concept art Kenner/Hasbro would send to Takara and say 'Now figure out how to make this work, guys!'" and have that vaguely gross early Beast Wars design aesthetic with the monstrous robot modes and animal guts and bones. It's great.

They look a lot like the original BW art, so it wouldn't be impossible but they'd definitely be some interesting toys.

Man ... I know the Micromaster sets didn't sell well and that's why we didn't get more, but I'm super sad we never got the complete year 1 teams like Free Wheeler and Tailspin.

To be fair, the toys were too simple. The "gun" modes were pretty lazy. I think they could have either added accessory pieces for better gun modes, or engineered new fold out canons!

Instead, the new Micromasters were basically the same as original, but slightly cheaper (no pins) and more articulation (ball joints). They're fun mini toys, but the execution was so [email protected]$$ed that their failure was obvious from go. Hasbro marketing dropped the ball here. For more marketing blunders, see "Fossilizers"! :lol
