With how good-looking Bomburst and Igunaus turned out I would have done him as a Core Class figure tbh also so he doesn't tower over Bomburst.

the reason is because there were those energon monster listings, 2 core and 1 deluxe. the pretenders replaced them.

 

Skullgrin could be retooled into probably one of the members of Squadron X (cant remember the name).

 

I selfishly want Minicons to come back and their gimmick of combining with bigger bots to be an evergreen gimmick. Minicons that transform into weapons or alt-modes with lots of utility and combined with a bigger bot is a great gimmick that I'm surprised Hasbro hasn't fall back into ever since PCC, it's basically 5mm peg weapons/weaponizers but on a slightly smaller scale. We got Core Class now, SS86 Rumble just came out and I think it's a good toy, a new cassette for Soundwave and comes with accessories that I say justifies the price. This is the perfect time now for Hasbro to revisit it, the only roadblock would be whether the Minicons should have the peg or port and vice versa with the regular Transformers.

 

I'm a fan of the Classic Pretenders.

That was my only Starscream and Grimlock as a kid.

So far, the only nod to CPs in all of CHUG that I can think of was Classics Grimlock's robot mode.

There's no REAL way to get CPs right until they get Pretenders right.

I mean, Funpub had plans for the CPs but it was a stopgap.

I'm hoping Super7 does CP Bumblebee as its main version.

It makes a certain amount of sense. In-scale, Bumblebee should be the size of a Reaction figure, too small for an Ultimate. He'd be smaller than Snarf. Forget scale and you're up against RED Bumblebee, which works pretty well with Ultimates and is MUCH cheaper.

But do Classic Pretender Bumblebee as a 7" action figure and you have no real competition. Just give him an alternate head of his robot mode.

Incidentally, I think Ultimates Bludgeon should have had this feature too.

 

Honestly that would be my hope with Slipstream in that she does have the slender model. My daughter dislikes Override because she doesn't LOOK like a girl despite the figure itself being a great update to the Cybertron mold. I can't pass the current Crasher off to her, but it is much easier with the old Fracture figure released a few years back. Currently she won't let go of my Legacy Elita One or Earthrise Lifeline.

As for Armada Starscream, the figure on its own looks fine. It lacks a lot of paint in places that take make him look like he's unfinished, which is unfortuante. There IS a 5mm port on the back that does work with the Siege Micromasters. So Swindle COULD be released separately.

As for the SS86 Dinobots. They have to do BOTH Snarl and Swoop. As to which one first, Snarl.
