you all know ive been dying to collect 3rd party figures... so in order to choose what figures to get ask you what's on your must have list of 3rd party figures?

QUESTION 1

my favorite 3rd party company is fansproject followed closely by mastermind creations, perfect
and maketoys. i pretty much know of and love every figure that they have released so far, now theres a bunch of smaller companys that have cool looking figures... but collectingbthe figures from just those 4 groups is gonna be hard, so should i just ignore them and only buy from these 4 groups to make things slighty easier or buy from every random company that has a cool looking figure.

btw im asking this question cause ive never bought a third party figure ALSO i am waiting till tfcon chicago to purchase my first few 3rd party figures.... so how would you experianced third party product purchasers suggest i go about things?

 

Everyone will have their own opinion of what is a must own, so I say get what is the most aesthetically pleasing to you.

Now in terms of quality, that's a little less subjective but to me Leo Dux is hands down the best figure made to date, followed in a close second by Warden.

Also: the Fansproject retro-future stuff, but thats definitely not for everyone.

I dont own Quakewave, but he looks really top tier as well.

A good deal for the price... but really, they're pretty boring.

 

All depends on what your goal is. Looking to complete a classics collection? Masterpiece your thing? A specific year, or maybe just a faction. There's a ton of 3p offerings out there. What are you trying to do with your collecting?

 

Hexatron is pretty amazing fun. I was worried he'd feel fragile, but I end up changing his forms a lot, because it's easy and fun to do.

ALL of the FansProject headmasters are great. Really clever designs, well constructed.

Warden is a bit of a partsformer, but his 'head' mode is awesome, and he's fun to pose. If you've got Fort Max, he feels like a must-have accessory. If not, well, if you're a big fan of his IDW appearances, then he's pretty neat to have for that.

The Feral Rex parts so far are exceptionally good, and I really enjoy M3 and Hercules, but to be honest, Hexatron and the FP headmasters are the ones I love the most. If my house burned down and I had to replace everything, the FP headmasters and Hex would top my list, so I guess those are the 'must haves' for me.

i really like PEs reflector, the feralcons, and the (modded) FP insecticons, if i had to add to the list.

holds a special place in my collection too, but now there are kind of a lot of magnus options.

i guess it would help if i told you what im wanting my collection to look like... well right now my collection is just full of random little buggers, so i want to sell my collection and start a collection exclusively made of 3rd party figures! (i think 3rd party figures are just better)

 

a problem i have is that i want to pretty much have an equal amount of bots and cons, but i dont know what figure should represent each character
