YA! I'm still waiting on my generations omnibots.
Can't we just increase the number of bots from other generations instead?
Or, how about a new type of Fuzor. Like Generations Fuzors. Like, Optimus Rattrap, for example. He could just be a big red and blue metallic rat, really. With tires.
Allow me to use a gif I already, recently used. Because that is pure genius.
Is this guy NotRamjet97?
Kids are not geewunners. It's a mistake collectors often make. Kids only care about those characters as long as they are shoved in their faces. At present Megatron is already one of those
characters they don't know because he hasn't been in a cartoon in three years.
Your beloved Starscream, Soundwave, Ratchet and Bulkhead are obscure one of characters to them.
Fixit, Steeljaw, Strongarm, Drift, Quillfire andaThunderhoof are their beloved characters.
But when Hasbro starts a new show and a toyline they will happily move along.
Because they are
geewunners. They want the toys that look cool
They don't care if it's a geewun character or not. So no. A show without optibeescreanmeg will not be a disaster, because we just had a show that was nearly that and it was a succes among children. They only reason they even brought those geewun characters back as much as they did was to appease the collectors who kept whining and hoping the show would be a disaster
Kids didn't care one jot that there was no
starscream where not in it
the whole time.
the characters collectors want them to not care
So in other words: a show without
any of the aforementioned might actually be a very big succes, but for the bitter geewunners who would want it to fail.
Whichever direction they go with it, I strongly hope that they stop with the "Every Deluxe has to do ___" type of engineering. It turned Prime Wars into "Monkey's Paw: The Toyline" for me.
In original idea that makes complete sense until you dig deeper, younger fans like me but are still old enough to care wouldn't buy from the new line, parents who are introducing them will be like"who da fug is dis?" and not buy them kids will may forget some characters like Starscream and Ironhide but new new fans will not care but fans who are, let's say eight for the sake of argument will even just look at them and say "I don't want those, there is no Bumblebee or Optimus Prime." and want nothing to do with it. And I'm not saying don't do that, just have another line with them also exists.
Yeah, I'm getting pretty tired of line wide gimmicks. It limits my hopes of future releases. For example, I would love deluxe Omnibots. But I wouldn't have wanted them as Headmasters or as Combiner limbs. So I don't even want them until Hasbro is making gimmick free deluxes again.
I realize it's super rare that Hasbro ventures out of anything G1, but honestly surprised we didn't get an Armada Sideways for Titans Return. Feels like the whole line would have been a good setup for him! (And I'd desperately want a Sideways with good articulation LMAO).
At any rate, always excited for anything non-G1, just wish they'd give it a go more often. Hoping one day we'll get all the Vehicon generals to have a modern update. XD
That would have been cool.
YA MUTHA BOUGHT GOBOTS!!?
IONNO, BUT NAW!
Answering the thread question with some heavy handed levity
Should other lines get more representation in Generations
No (Why Not?)
If you have to explicate a joke it kills it but in the spirit of fuckin around on a Friday evening
"Should other lines get more representation in Generations?"
"If no why not?"
YA MUTHA BOUGHT GOBOTS!
Implying, even asking that questions suggests /THROW SILLY RANDOMISH 80S GI CENTRIC INSULT HERE/ you don't GET why G1 is so great which can only be explained by insufficient in period exposure to the phenomenon possibly because your family only purchased an inferior product at the time, completely sarcastic and funny ( attempt) in no way actually meant to impugn you or your family, I just think it sounds funny
Not sure how I could have gotten Go-Bots when I was born in 1997.....
Yards sales son!
There's plenty of room to share in a line, not only across the different Generations of Transformers, but also across the East and West:
A show without any of the aforementioned already IS a very big success. And not aimed a collectors.
Rescue Bots has done damn well without Optimus or Bee as main characters.
There's only decepticons in one episode.
Young kids aren't going to know who Prime, Megs are anyway. Least not the 30 year heritage unless they are told.
