That below-the-knee leg pivot, if this ever gets made, is going to be a major weak point. A lot of mass hanging off a relatively tiny hinge at this scale is going to torque it clean off imo. Even with the weight still on the ground, it's scary looking.

welps... city mode is underwhelming as hell. even for a city bot that basically sits down. this is extremely basic as fuck yet again for a bot that will take up this much real estate.

while i wasn't expecting utopia type base modes. i was hoping for more than this from the metroplex to end all metroplex's.

 

Grifter Prime seems to be treated well.

Honestly though even if they're simple this is a 4 foot tall figure it's going to be hell to transform, if it had like a modern mp level transformation at this scale it might genuinely maim a person.

 

I like that the ship mode looks like an aircraft carrier, and that the arms do well at looking like skyscrapers in the base mode.

 

From what I gather this is still early. From what I’ve seen their team welcomes feedback to make DAVIS the best it could possibly be.

 

Considering how tough the ratchets have to be on Titan class figs, how tough are they gonna have to be to support this guy? How much force is gonna be needed to transform him??

This figure is gonna be costly, but it'll ultimately pay for itself when I no longer need to go to the gym to get in shape! Just one transformation front and back a day and you'll be all set. When people ask me how I got the muscles of a greek god, I'm gonna tell them "The Metroplex workout".

Couple of suggestions

1) In Transformers:The Movie when Autobot City transforms there's several white elements that pop out clearly designed to indicate Metroplex. Any chance of incorporating any of these in the design please ?

2) G1 Metroplex is massively improved by the Toyhax upgrade set. Any chance a similar label sheet could be included for this or some cues for the design being taken from the set ?

 

looks fun. Glad i have B&A Six Sigma so i can incorporate him into base mode for the red gun and tower bits.

would be cool to have a black and yellow helipad sticker for the landing pad too, but i can see this is going for the colors of the anime sketch/inkings.

 

Not a serious comment, but imagine the black ramp trigger used to send minibots down the original toy ramp being upgraded to spring-loaded and launching your $400 MP Optimus into the wall.

 

Hmm, maybe they should have worked out some means of separating the hips and/or collapsing the thighs. Hard to say if it would stable at that size, but would go a long way to avoid the "robot sitting down" look of base mode

I agree that company reps should be treated fairly, but when somebody who has a well-known negative reputation in the community shows up, I actually think it's the responsibility of the community to make sure others are aware of said history.

Like I said before, too many people stick their head in the sand and let people get away with things (and then are usually the first to cry foul when something goes wrong).

If Spence showed up peddling a new project, would people rather not bring up his history of screwing people over and actively ruining companies?

All these doubts can be reduced if the LikeToys weibo actually mentions the overseas representative in a statement.

 

I don't love the altmode but I never really have. It is mostly accurate so I suppose that is fine.
