Likelihood of Arcee not combining in the movie?
Based on the news from Botcon.

As I stated in the live news feed thread, isn't this from the same people that said that Megatron wasn't in the movie? And then AFTER the toy was revealed (despite their "best" efforts) they said that he was only in flashbacks.

So, will Arcee combine in the movie or not? What do you think? Because I thought it was a cool idea.

What news from BotCon? I wasn't there (obviously). Did Bay say that she doesn't combine? If so he has said a lot of questionable things about the movie. The Chromia toy has two random spots where something is supposed to peg in that isn't used in the Transformation. I am pretty sure that they combine (even for only a scene or two)

The Hasbro guys were fairly certain that the combination had been cut from the film, but said the toys will be able to do it.

There was news from Botcon saying that Arcee combining was dropped from the movie. It's a pity, too, because it'd be REALLY cool for the Autobots to have their own combiner of sorts.

EDIT: Hobbes-timus Prime beat me to it.

The twins still combine for the ice cream truck mode...so, there is that...FWIW.

FWIW? And I'm not too heartbroken that Arcee and co. doesn't combine. I'm sure it would look cool, but too many wheelbots, combiners, and comedy relief already.

    "For what it's worth".

An ice cream truck is hardly a "gestalt" as we typically think of them, but hey, at least the concept of combination is not completely foreign to the 'Bots.

    I'd do things to Arcee.

If you know what I mean.

You need to read REALLY FAR into things to derive any sort of ribaldry from "doing things." Now if I said DOING IT, then we'd have a double entendre.

ANYWAY... I understand that Hasbro seemed pretty certain that they removed it from the film, but Michael Bay also said that he killed Arcee off in the movie early on because he didn't like her.

I'm just saying, this is probably all part of that "misinformation" campaign. And if it is, then it's working. I'm slightly convinced that it may not happen in the movie. After so much from the movie has been leaked, it'll be nice to actually be surprised by something again.

Would you chill out, man? It was just a joke.

Anyway, back on topic, the triplets from the movie combining was dropped from the movie. Bay said that the
    Arcee triplet dies
, so that is probably what makes then unable to form the combiner.

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines now.

Ok so Bay said that "He kills her later" right? Arcee was going to be the name for the combined form of the three bikes right? So all the way back when Bay said that, he was referring to he killed the idea of "Arcee the Combiner". Now Arcee is a single character (we saw her toy name listed as "Arcee" and a single character).
They don't die like we saw in the novel (which is an earlier version of the story though....)
It was all misinformation in a new form. He said it the way he did so that it sounded like he meant that she literally dies.

Sorry, I tend to think way outside the box a lot. Sorry if my ideas don't make sense :/

EDIT: To Mechafire AGAIN! Bay never said
that the Arcee triplets die... he said that ARCEE herself dies. No triplets anywhere in his statement (I watched the interview where he said the stuff about Arcee).

Yes, that's what I meant when I said, "The Arcee triplet" without an "s".

I wasn't taking it seriously! (the exclamation point is FRIENDLY, in this post)
This is a very helpful link for THE INTERNET (It's all about me: Why e-mails are so easily misunderstood | csmonitor.com)

Anyway, I think that what Michael Bay said about Arcee is ALL part of the misinformation campaign he was supposedly running.

Not to derail the topic that I started, but there's no reason to be upset by a post that I already stated WASN'T supposed to taken the way that it was.
And I provided a link that talks about the internet phenomena of misunderstandings due to the lack of body language, intonation, emphasis, etc... and you replied with "whatever." Am I mistaken in finding that kind of rude?

i think that the chance of arcee combining would be near the end.. best chance to see a nice sequence before fighting the fallen, and if :bay  keeps his word, the best chance for her to be killed.

idk, there's so much i'm looking forward to, esp. arcee, i hope they show it

Just forget about it, okay? It's fine. I didn't mean "Whatever." in an offensive way at all. Again, I'm sorry if I offended you by posting that.

True, but it would seem that in the film all three bikes ARE one Arcee, and not there own separate characters as with the toys. The comic shows this, the book spends a paragraph on it, and the list of characters that was revealed a while back only had Arcee and not Chromia or the purple one.

I'm confused at the dropping of the combined mode since I thought having her as three bikes was to make her a larger robot. If they cut out this, then it might be reasonable to assume she will die. I hope that's not the case, but Bay is Bay. I did want to see more than one Autobot die in the film (so far only one is confirmed), so I was thinking Jolt or either Ironhide or Ratchet. To have Arcee do virtually nothing and then die would be a complete waste of the character and one of the things which would decrease my enjoyment of the film.

I'm not against her dying, as long as they can get as much as possible out of the character. But that doesn't seem to happen.

Megatron was a character worth lying about. He was important to the plot.
