    Hiya,

I am considering picking of FoC - having only just finished WfC campaign - and was hoping to guage opinion on whether there is still, a few months after launch, a decent multiplayer community for FoC.

I tend to only play in the evenings in the UK - about 5/6pm EST - and was wondering if I'm likely to be able to find a game at that time of day.

I usually find a good game or two around that time.

I'll definitely be playing for as long as there's people to play against, and I'm obviously UK too, so that's a minimum of one other player! :p

Well, the new Call of Duty came out, so it's probably just about to go splat, if it hasn't already.

At the moment it probably wont be alive much because of halo and CoD but the multiplayer may become alive again in a month or two if were lucky.

It's a rapidly dying online community, it was at it's best during launch and when the DLC was out.
Unfortunately HMS has confirmed no more DLC is coming out, not even new maps.
(Even though new ones were shown in the multiplayer trailer....)

Honestly, the truth of it is that most people will only stick around for Escalation. There will be those who want competitive MP, but with CODBLOPS 2 and Halo 4 out, both with HUGE player bases. In the first 5 days of Halo 4, over 4 billion unique people were playing the game over XBL. It's a strong game with a powerful, entrenched player base. I'm sure Call of Duty reached similar numbers.

The FoC community is probably a few thousand at best? It's not exactly huge, and with more competitive games out there with deeper levels of skill in the MP, I wouldn't be surprised if FoC's community is pretty small and cozy now.

Seems plenty stable to me. I've yet to have a single problem finding a game.

4 billion? More than half the planet's population?

I have not played FOC in a while.as much as i love the game,it just got boring after i primed, and beat the campaign twice.and now that i have halo 4,i will probably just play it the odd time if i need a break from halo.

Im guessing the community and game sales might have a bit of an increase around christmas time, but probably not a huge one.

Like i said,i love the game alot.its just that it gets a bit old and stale after a while, since there arent any new maps,or wepons,or wepon upgrades.if they added all of that stuff as an update,i would play it ALOT more.

I was still finding good quantity of players after Halo came out when i did worldwide connections instead of regional. I haven't been on since COD came out. Hopefully this Double XP will bring some fun this weekend.

This, along with Halo 4 and AC3, is probably the reason for the online community to die down.

I still play every day, and I haven't seen it die down. I bet there will be a big surge of players after Christmas too.

After HMS latest comments about DLC & support of the game, i'd say multiplayer for FOC has the lifespan of a petshop Goldfish.

    Quoted for truth.
Really disappointed to see such a great game with lots of potential die out.
