There are some eerie similarities between the two characters. Given Alignment around the same time as Fullmetal Alchemist started it has to be a coincidence, but I still can't help but wonder if there was somehow some influence from Liege Maximo on the character of Father, or vice versa.

Both betrayed their creators in the ancient past

Both spend a lot of time sitting on thrones

Both have the ultimate goal of attaining godhood

Both use a gargantuan mechanism that relies on the alignment of celestial bodies to do so

Both subdivided into a limited number of offspring in order to influence politics and instigate wars

Am I crazy? or is that weirdly specific.

Those are all very old tropes, is the thing.

I can totally see the similarities between them, though I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence and similar tropes.

Though if we did learn that one influenced the other, that'd be pretty dope.

Now I wanna hear Kent Williams voice the Liege Maximo, though admittedly his voice should probably have some distortion or other alteration to make it sound deeper and more haggard.

Kent Williams as Liege Maximo, hmm interesting idea.

I've always thought someone like Graham McTavish (for the more Robot Loki esque designed versions) or Vernon Welles doing his Samael voice from Darksiders II for the more cosmic eldritch abomination version would be perfect voices for him.
