Do other japanese releases apart from these Monsterbots and Maximus have headmasters with a name separated from their robot mode name?

I'm kind of glad it wasn't. I'm pretty happy with Twinferno and these exclusives tend to get pricey.

 

The headmasters are different from the Hasbro versions, based on the front page description, Repugnus is also different?

They were available for months on original release. Unless you were specifically waiting for the Japanese version?

theyre largely identical to hasbro, except the takara releases use a black screw in the headmaster rather than a silver one if im remembering right and the takara ones dont come with the extra masters

 

They had already released Doublecross in the Legends line before these two.

 

That’s really nice art on the front. Might want to pick this up at some point.

Transformers Legends LG-EX Grotusque & Repugnus Exclusive Two-Pack
$75 from usa etailers. take into consideration that takara deluxes are typically $30 and this is an lg-ex release, meaning takara tomy mall exclusive typically, its a pretty reasonable price

 

The news blurb says they are repaints, but to me they look exactly the same -I have Repugnus on my desk and cannot see much difference.

 

the Hasbro version of Grotesque would have cost me £50, and I think Repugnus was £30. I got this pack preordered for about £60, so I'm happy with that price.

 

yea, hasbro repugnus and grotusque were only a good price if you were in the USA, $25 each. otherwise this pack is the better deal really

 

Yeah, I'm pretty grateful for the Takara release. £60 is a bit pricey for a couple of Deluxes (imo) but a lot better than £100. I do envy the folks in the USA who could easily get hold of them really cheaply.

 

yea, i was really pleased with their pricing here, lucked out and got grotusque on the early release too

 

Hopefully one day they will still make the obvious Fangry Remould. I'm sure they can find a Terrorcon to make Horribull out of too. perhaps even squeeze Squeezeplay out of Blot.

But then Turning Blitzwing into Flywheels was obvious too and they didn't do that either - (makes me miss Funpub).
