The main Legends line got folded into the main Hasbro line, but AFAIK they're still gonna do the LG-EX stuff.

Is anybody else planning on displaying the jumpstarters with these guys since Takara repurposed the titans return ones as powered masters?

 

yeah those cardboard boxes were so flimsy and disappointing, imo.

 

They'll be in the same faction in my display (not Autobots) . But not in the same team.

 

That's my only 'worry' with this release. Really hoping that Takara invested a few extra dollars into more sturdy packaging (which is not unlikely, with this being part of the 35th anniversary).

 

I plan to chuck them with Star Convoy...

 

I'm building a Zone/Return of Convoy shelf with all the Micros and a repurposed Diaclone figure as Grandus.

 

At the rate Takara is putting out all these late Japan G1 characters, I'd fully expect a Grandus down the line.

Now the question is - will they go for the classic chunky look or a modernized one like this one from fan art by artist Hansime on Deviantart.

Abit of both? Still needs a Road Ceaser and Liokaiser. Hello Takara are you guys hearing me out?!

 

That's just bad, especially from an artist point of view. I can't stand it when they 'normalize' the proportions and silhouette of a tf character. There is nothing 'modernized' here, it's just bland, derivative and uninteresting, well in my opinion (eeh sort of).

 

I was hoping for Road Caesar and Liokaiser before another Optimus in LG-Ex.
I hope we get them soon.
Though releasing the Big Powered trio is a risky investment.
It's understandable for them to do an Optimus to spread the risk before they do anything like Liokaiser and Road Caesar.
And it's cool that it's not a G1 Optimus.
But I still hope we don't have to wait to long for Road Caesar and Liokaiser  

 

Hopefully by next year

 

I'd be good with a chunky Grandus or something a bit more lithe. But some representation of him in the line would certainly attract my attention.

 

It'll be interesting to see what Takara has in mind for the coming years in terms of revisiting japanese G1. It's clear that the market isn't very big as it seems we're gonna have to make do with retools. Big Powered showed that they can achieve a lot, but Star Convoy strays a bit towards the 'homaging' side of things (which is fine, but may leave a lot of us wanting). Anyway, let's all hope sales of Big Powered will atleast meet Takara's expectations. *looks at calender* Man, still have to wait another two months.
