I just want a brand new G1 line where all the characters that had good toys won't get a new one, and the ones that do need a new one will get one. This would be for every G1 series including all the Japanese G1 series, the European figures, and the mail in figures too (Powerdashers, anyone?). It would be great. :D
Isn't that about half the retooling on Dai Atlas here?

Or have the wings slide out to enlarge.

Still would like a Predaking with a double deluxe torso too.
They could have Divebomb form the upper half and Razorclaw the lower.
A new guy with a wolfmode could be the new arm.

That's pretty interesting, and different. Be careful, they don't like interesting and different here. ;)
I could go for that, but Predaking has two iconic features: the wings on the back, and the lion's head on the chest. As long as those are retained, I think we could avoid a riot on the boards.

You really want to stir things up, ask people if they would go for a Scramble City-style Devastator.

Thanks for the reply! Really appreciate it! The figures look good but...

Yeah...I really dislike the headmaster gimmick being used on bots that didn’t have the gimmick...I need to think hard with regards to picking this set.

You only have to select a shipping method for the purpose of completing your order, for items over £100 the shipping is then deducted from your final invoice.

I think it would be do-able with the wings and lion head detachable or on a slider.

So this is one set that many people seem to be interested in? Is the appeal because these are rare characters that are being modernized?

I think it’s a combination of obscure characters and more Titans Return toys, a line which has been very well received by a lot of people.

It's because these are rare characters, period. Being retooled repaints, you can hardly call these modernized.

I'd say these are maybe modernized in a passive way (i.e. as a product of being repaints of the TR figures) rather than being an actual modernization of the original characters/toys.

I would actually call these more G1 accurate than modernized. Look at all all the details and trademarks of said characters (be it toy or toon). There's hardly any (deliberate) deviation from their original designs, with the exception of the facesculpts ofcourse. But I'd lump those in a different category all together.

They're definitely modernized where it counts, with articulation and engineering.

But otherwise, that's all you can expect. It's not quite like the updates done for someone like Starscream being a F-22 instead of a F-15. These guys were already meant to be beyond modern as a bunch of futuristic space vehicles from future space.

All I inferred is that Sky Shadow wasn't released because of major changes made by Hasbro to who he was as a character or his anatomy by Hasbro, and Takara did not have the budget, drive, or initiative to make a more accurate version of him that is truer to their G1 material that they originally made. I think it's silly that you are equating minor changes to other characters (such as the aforementioned UW Stunticons and the inclusion of mini bot accessories) as being on the level of a change like this. The reason I cited really likely was the case.

I realize that Takara did not release Hasbro's Sentinel Prime because it was a stark departure from what the G1 cartoon portrayed. Takara could have released a Sentinel that was truer to the cartoon, but did not. They could have made that work, but opted not to.

Calling them one-offs does not in any way imply that they are not part of the line. In a similar vein, Big Powered is part of the Legends line even though Takra more or less ended the line to move on the Power of the Primes.

I'm just happy I can get this set and having Sky Shadow is great. One offs or not, I'm glad I can collect whatever seems appealing and hope others can enjoy them. Overlord both colors has been awesome
