The scene where the girl's boyfriend is driving what looks like a rally car through the corn fields and into an empty abandoned building lot and is being chased by the CIA after Optimus Prime explodes out of Mark W. laboratory.

First off, was that a Toyota Prius converted to a rally car? It definitely looked like a Prius that had the sound of a gas engine installed into the car. I mean, can Prius' drive as fast as the one in this movie drove? lol

Also, for people who are saying there was no crude humor, did you miss the part where the boyfriend made that cringe worthy joke about how the daughter knew how to use a stick shift to Mark W. followed by a smirk on his face, as referring to his penis.

Finally, the stupidest part of that car chase scene was when they were driving through the parking garage and there was two beams conveniently placed pointing outside of a window for them to jump out of with a ramp conveniently placed just below for them to land on.

What are other's impressions of this car chase scene?

I'll admit I cringed when I seen the two beams and the ramp placed perfectly for a car to jump out lol that scene wasn't really edited very well either (Not saying it's bad just COULD have been better).. But not only that, One of the Rally Fighters crashed into the side of Shane's car but it had no damage? Could be wrong though but I didn't see any damage, i'll have to see it again to confirm.

The movie isn't perfect but it's seriously is alot better than what Critics make it out to be. All movies have mistakes :thumb

I caught it, though I remember hearing no reaction from the audience (guess we were all too engrossed in the chase).

Then again, it's not as blatant as "Sam's Happy Time," 2 dogs humping, Sector 7 'shorts,' or "The Enemy's scrotum."

    1) Sonic RS Rally Car, not a Toyota Prius....the news for that has been out forever.

    2) Not so crude but could have done without it.

    3) I think it was just a type of machinery.

They don't care anymore. All they care about is $$$. They could care less about moviegoers and transformers fans.

Wait, I thought they were deliberately heading to a stunt jump Shane used, hence the entire reason for entering the parking garage? They acted like it was their plan all along, to lose them after the jump.

The only thing I don't get is why they couldn't keep driving the car and just left with Optimus, I mean it looked like it could still drive.

Even though he said she was his partner in racing later on?

Maybe he knew about it, something from a stunt show he was at maybe?

I'm just guessing with this one but it fits...Kinda...*shrugs*

That's the impression I got. There was even a landing ramp...

    DUDE.

that car chase should have been deleted, it made no sense.

there was a ramp on the top floor of the building? why? there was another ramp below it? why?

they were being chased, WHY? bad guys were after optimus prime, not that family it made no sense.

With the ramp, along with Shane and Tessa's attitude for most of the scene, it looked like they did this before. The area looked very much like an old racing/stunt hang out.

so Shane who put his life savings into that car typically destroyed it on weekends by jumping off a building?

I think Shane knew there was a ramp there, otherwise I doubt he would have drove out. They could of atleast added a line like "hang on I come here all the time, I know this place inside and out"

After the chase, I figured they knew of the ramp. But during the race I was too distracting with wanting to see more of the Optimus-Lockdown fight.

Yeah, I think this would have made the scene a little more believable. Otherwise, it just looked really silly and all there for convenience sake. :p

yeah "old hangout" which means you are suggesting they wreck cars all the time.

makes no sense for someone who is a racer to do that, it helps nothing for you to damage the tools of your trade.

Because all racers were the most careful people when they first started out.

They were also in the middle of being chased, so pardon them for not being absolutely perfect.

But if you just want to call all those convenient ramps and playing it cool attitude from Shane as directorial laziness, then go right ahead. I'm not gonna stop you.

what? so taking a turn too sharp while learning a track is the same as jumping off a building?

no matter how many times you jump off a building it won't improve your racing skills. so its not the same thing at all to not being a careful driver.

I'm just asking you to think a little bit.
