OG G1-Era TF Veterans will likely instantly recognize this Classic as the Basis for G1 AUTOBOT "ROADBUSTER"

Bloody FINALLY done with my Full Armor Gundam (Thunderbolt version) from Daban. This was a bit of a bothersome build for me, misplacing parts, breakages and iffy quality waterslides.... But finally it stands.

And the last of the MG Testament parts done! Along with a couple of stragglers from the previous color batch. One day ahead of my projected completion date too!
There were a lot of light-red parts, as well as A TON of decals (which is a drastic change from the RE/100 Lindwurm that I completed just prior).

Will probably do final assembly and take completed pictures this weekend.

Started in on the 3rd party Sentinel sniper not-Gundam today. Is it considered 3rd party?...anyway, built the torso, arms, and head.

For the most part, it's a pretty good build. Nothing is overly fiddly and the plastic feels very nice. The pre-built frame feels very sturdy, though I wonder how long the plastic-on-die-cast joints will keep their tightness.

Unlike most unofficial/OC not-Gundams, it's not covered in thousands of razor-tipped pieces, which my fingers appreciated. An interesting decision was to duplicates of the runners with the yellow parts in dark blue. You definitely have options for how you want it to look. Also interestingly, you have to build and pin the fingers. They handled this part quite cleverly, having the pins molded onto a tab that you use to push them into place with and then remove.

So far, I'm pretty pleased with the kit, which is a nice surprise as the last few not-Gundam kits have been kind of disappointing overall.

While third party has an official definition, colloquially its used to describe any and all gundam/gundam adjacent model kits and model kit makers coming out of china. So while sentinel is orginal its clearly HEAVILY inspired by the MK II and GM/Jegan/ UC grunt suits. The load out also looks like it takes inspiration from the model bingo MK II resin kit. But Chinese companies copying off eachother is a tale old as time lol. Im going to find a MK II head to put on mine

I decided to build something completely different. The Kotobukiya megalomaria series. It is good to take a brak and build something different. And this one stradles the line between creepy and cool.

    Koto.jpg

It is fairly easy to build and and sticks together without any fuss. Well balanced and sturdy.

    Koto2.jpg

It is also a powerstatement on how to get articulation with modern tech. Simple but powerful.

P-Bandai mail call! IMG_7152.jpeg I still haven’t seen SEED Destiny but I’m really excited about this kit. Not a fan of Destiny Gundam but I love Impulse Gundam and all the variants. Have an RG Sword Impulse Gundam coming eventually too!

Not the best pictures but using the Blue Angel's blue and yellow really made it work.

So far both of these kits are amazing. My only real gripe about the Raiser is the shoulder pads. They pop off super easy when I'm posing it. Other than that it's solid.

Unfortunately, I don't have anywhere to put the damn thing currently. All my shelves are pretty much full.

Finishing up the Build Strike. Decal layout is mostly custom using leftover decals from other sheets. The standard decal layout from Bandai is pretty barebones.

Makes me kind of annoyed that I got the first version Stormbringer.
Especially since I went with a custom color-scheme, would've been nice with more option parts.

I skipped the first version because I didn't like the colors or shape of the Gundam's face, and have the GM Turbulence. This one I may get since I like this color scheme, and the "Heavy Gundam" style Full Armor.

    Nice.
I didn't realize that this new one has a different V-fin than the first release. I really did love the V-fin of the first version, so it makes me feel a bit better about it all.
Plus, I'm happy with the work that I did, and I really should lay off getting more P-Bandai kits; they're proving to be slightly more annoying than regular-retail kits with their worse parts-separation.

... and while I also never want to touch that base mold again because of the annoying ankle-armor seamline, looks like the Full Armor on this new version effectively covers it up and makes it moot.

I’d be super into that if it wasn’t PB, but I guess I’ll have to appreciate it from afar like I did the original Stormbringer.

Also slightly off topic, but when did HLJ stop being a TFW sponsor?
