Today's limited progress, I attached the sensor parts to the booster shield.

    20211031_230742.jpg

Something about it made me look at the preview build on the back cover to the construction manual, and I realized something.

    Someone at Bandai dun gouf'd.

    20211031_230520.jpg

Looking at it now, I see they must have put the parts together in reverse. The manual has you set the clear part first and then slide over the frame-tip.

Meanwhile, my continuing trend of one step forward - four steps back happened again. My paint in the verniers turned out badly on the second coat. My red paint recipe is too thick, and even when I thinned it like I normally do, it still globbed up. And the usual dust stuck at the bottom of each cone found its way into the painted walls.

So into the ultrasonic bath they went.... along with the face.. AGAIN!! *argh oy...* I am not giving up on this idea. I repainted the face without making the repeated mistake again, and managed to start painting what I need to on the rest of the head.

The verniers will have their day another time.

As I turned off the work light for the night, I noticed how much the white details *paint and plastic* stand out, and decided one last marathon of painting I need to do on the feet.

I've already disassembled the heel parts to start priming.

White Dingo GM Sniper is complete. My summary of this build:

    - A billion frame parts that get covered up (thanks 2.0 frame)
    - Weapons are seam line hell
    - Ankle guard has a nasty seam line that needs to get fixed.
    - Its a posing champ

    Welp.
This might be the first time that Nippon-Yasan has screwed me over (I know there's a whole thread about them here, but I've personally never had any issues with them before).
Had an order for the reissue MG F90 along with 4 of the Mission Packs. I knew that the lot of it was being released around the end of October, and I was waiting for Nippon-Yasan's "Please pay for your preorder" email.
    Never got it.
I did, however, get an email from them on Friday saying "Your order has been cancelled".

I opened up a ticket with them to see if they can "un-cancel" my order and I can pay immediately, but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
TBH, it's not the worst order of mine to be cancelled if they can't un-cancel it, though. But still.

Sorry to hear that man. Their CS is garbage so there is a high probability that it will stay cancelled :(  I gave up on them in 2019 after some shipping issues.

Yeah, most of my stuff comes from Anime-Export, but there's still many items that only Nippon-Yasan seems to list, so sometimes I don't really have much of a choice.

But like I said, it's not the worst order to have cancelled on me. I'm sure I'll be able to score an MG F90 later on, and they seem to stock the Mission Packs regularly anyways.
Maybe I did dodge a bullet anyways; when I made the initial preorder of the F90 and 4 of the Mission Pack sets, I did have a little bit of buyer's remorse mainly in the overwhelming thought as to how to display up to 26 Mission Packs. We'll see how things go at this point, but I'm not stressing over it. It's not like the rest of the Gunpla backlog is getting thin anytime soon anyways. :D

I think it'd be fun to do the MG DX after completing the HG. Though I like juxtaposing builds like that.

I got MG Heavyarms from there. I ordered on Monday and got it on Wednesday. Prices are pretty fair, with $10 flat shipping, so it was cheaper than me going 30 miles to my nearest target. They’re located in Cumming, Ga so it got to me pretty fast. They also have somethings I haven’t seen on other sites. Like I ordered the HG delta plus and hg hi Nu Gundam with barby bull. I think I got the last hg hi Nu though.

edit: just checked my order has shipped, so they’re pretty good.

MG DX is a top contender. But I need some more Action Bases. My Wing zero Custom Ver ka took a nose dive today. Luckily nothing fell off the shelf, the action base that came with it failed miserably. I’ve had such bad luck with clear AB1s.

Wow! I’ll have my centaur robot tomorrow! I highly recommend Gundam Place Store.

I completely lost track of time tonight but I got a good bit of work done, literally from heel to forehead.

    20211101_193904.jpg

My late night revision on the heel struts turned out pretty smooth. I'm avoiding the old habit of using panel line accent or ink on my painted white edges without a molded line. It will be less noticeable here than on the booster shield.

    20211101_200756.jpg

What is noticeably better is my swanky striped shoes.

I'm going to break with my usual tradition of saving the head for last, mostly to avoid further incidents with painting the mask.

The side halves got some details filled in before they got sandwiched together.

    20211101_230018.jpg

Now for that moment I've both feared and looked forward to. Finish painting the face.
I waited until I needed to whip a pan batch of dark blue.

    20211101_225859.jpg

This is that moment where I try not to breathe while simultaneous letting out a massive sigh of relief.

    20211101_231056.jpg

    ... then karma struck.

First it was chafing paint on the chin, but then when I set on the forehead camera, the clasp-hinge of the neck post snapped. Upsetting yes, but not enough to end this build. I just fixed it with quick-set thin cement and made sure it's a rigid repair. I lose only a fraction of the head's expanded movement, but not where it really counts in the ball and socket connection.

    20211101_232733.jpg

What matters is this. The repair work on the chin aside, I get the result I wanted in giving the MkV an intimidation factor. It puts typically 'heroic' white Gundam face on an antagonistic power house, and the silhouette of a sinister, toothy grin.

    20211102_000014.jpg

I added a little more dark blue to the bases for the v-antennas while I finished the other dark blue areas. Those will be the last parts I attach to the kit.

    20211101_235444.jpg

I used what I had left of the batch on the Incoms too, just as planned. I'm letting these dry for the night but they only need a bit of clean up work and the panel lines filled in.

    20211101_235040.jpg

Although in hindsight I could have made them cobalt blue, but the dark blue matches with the rifle and beam sabers.

    20211101_234944.jpg

There is enough cobalt on the backpack, but it's also because I don't want to keep repainting the white bands around the Incoms.

So all that remains are the booster shield, Incoms, and verniers. Again, those will be the last labor to get finished once I'm done playing exclusively with white paint.
