It was $10 when I picked it up from my local Target just now.

Why can't we have Gunpla and action figures in normal shops...

In fairness it is time for Bandai to come with the 3.0

Because.... America. Back when I had this conversation with someone in Toys R Us when they started carrying gunpla after Gundam Wing. The moment they heard me say "these are model kits," they put the models back on the shelf and left.

Now we've got Gundam Universe figures and they're still collecting dust in my part of the world.

That's good to hear; it rang up $25 at one of my local stores which I assumed was a mistake.

I feel as if it's probably 1 of the 2: the casual consumer has a general idea as to what they want but don't want to shell out the money for it because they're cheap/arent used to paying more than 20-25 dollars for a basic figure or they just don't know what they want when it comes to gundam toys period. The Gundam Universe line is clearly aimed towards the casual consumer but it's collecting dust everywhere so what's the issue now?

I'd say now the problem is brand awareness. Gundam still doesn't have a foothold in America to garner the appeal with a general audiences.
Also I'm in south Georgia... I'm in a county close to the border between the "hold my beer" state and the "hey watch this" state.

In the meantime keeping up with the trend of Target sightings! I figured I'd take a look tonight while I was out in town doing errands and picking up takeout dinner for myself and my parents.

No sign of "Merica Gundam, but they did add this.

    20211003_183702.jpg

.... and I ended up buying the Heavyarms.

Completely lost track of time tonight on the MkV, catching back up from where I left off. Painting white indents and stripes to break up the blue, and gray highlights throughout.

    20211003_172911.jpg

I can at least complete the toes so it can stand on its own.

    20211003_210649.jpg

Getting the mega beam cannon/beam sabers assembled and painted as cleanly as I can.

    20211003_213716.jpg

Using Gunship Gray to fill in the panel gaps without any accent liner.

    20211004_001323.jpg

Back to the feet, or rather back *of the feet. I just felt compelled to paint the indented end of the heel struts.

    20211004_012800.jpg

The painted footpads need a little ink and touch ups but the colors filled in.

    20211004_012932.jpg

Last bit of work tonight is the beam rifle. Painted the tip of the barrel and a white stripe too helps break up the monotone look. Adding more as the weapon gets closer to finishing.

    20211004_022640.jpg

Speaking of weapons... I'm checking out USA Gundam Store for bad ideas and an Imaginary Skeleton Tyrannosaurus and came across.... THIS.

A third-party take on the Hyper Mega Launcher based on the Metal Spirits version. The price looks good for what it's worth, and they have two color options for either the Nu or Hi-Nu RGs.

And it even comes with Fin Funnel effects parts.

Not gonna lie... that specific super attack move of 00 Sky where he kicks the mini-kapool like a football for a power-charged attack always seems pretty silly and ridiculous, even within the world of GBN that Build Divers (And its better sequel) takes place.

Is it wrong for me to think it's odd they don't have the Hyper Mega Launcher I just found at USAGS?

...which by the way, bought. My RG Nu Gundam gets HWS and Double Fin Funnel Unit, and the Hi-Nu I don't have yet needs a gun rack.

I assume I they don’t have any stock yet. I don’t think Gundam Central puts up any preorders. The Super Gundam seems to be in stock on their shop as of now, right?

Correct, seems to be about 50 euros shipped for me in the Netherlands.

Its light hearted fun, plus the SD and cutesy kits usually operate differently and the OO Sky is basically a super robot so ridiculous moves are passable.

I wasn't sure what their policy was. The closest thing to a preorder they have is the "Coming soon" banner at the top of the front page. I've only gone to Gundam Central for things that I just discover existed when they were released.

New guy helping me do September’s sales tax/ QuickBooks.

Speaking of “Nu”, Mg Nu Gundam Ver Ka will be her this week (oh I for got to mention ordered a Nu Gundam off Amazon. Had some Gift cards from people that can’t make it to the wedding, so yay Free Gundams). Sandrock will be here this too. Now just got to figure out which to do next. RG Exia, HG Marsfour, HG Barbatos 1st form, or mg dx.

Might just hit my pen and watch Evil Dead II.
